I made a fuel stop at Red Willow Aviation in McCook, NE on 28 Nov 2011 - perhaps the best FBO I've been to! When I made my first advisory call the manager, Shirley, came over the radio and asked if we needed fuel or anything else. I answered yes; when we landed, the fuel truck was waiting for us and the linemen took great care in their job, terrific. Shirley went out of her way to ensure customers are taken care of. My passenger and I went into the new FBO building where they have several vintage aircraft on display, really nice. They also have fresh popcorn and drinks complimentary. The FBO owner, Griff, stopped by to check on us, best customer service I've seen in years. McCook airport in general has very nice facilities, super airport. Based on my experiences with Red Willow Aviation and the McCook airport, I will go out of my way to stop there next time I'm in the area!

We are in frequently with our Cessna 340, and always get great service with the best fuel price. Shirley is one of the nicest and most helpful people you will meet at an airport of any size.

On Sept 19, 2011, I got a low voltage light shortly after departing LBF on an x-country from BDH in MN to my home field DVT in AZ. This was my first long flight in my new-to-me Mooney M20J. The folks at Red Willow quickly repaired the broken ground wire on the alternator and I was on my way. Friendly folks.

Shirley was fabulous!! She hangared our plane overnight due to storms rolling in, found motel rooms for us at a great rate, provided a courtesy car, and a recommendation for dinner at the Taste of Texas. We look forward to being able to visit again!

Red Willow Aviation is a class act. They knew thunderstorms were coming and put my aircraft in their hangar w/out a request to do so. You do not find that kind of service everywhere!

McCook is a nice field that I fly to about once or twice a year. However, they used to have good fuel prices. I landed on 6 June 2011 and I did not buy fuel because now they are one of the highest in the area! Fuel was 50 cents a gallon higher than at Atwood, KS (to the south a short distance) and about 40 cents higher a gallon than Ogallala, NE (to the north). I noticed there wasn't near the normal traffic. I'm wondering if their higher fuel prices are driving traffic away. I know the price caused me to avoid buying fuel there. I hope they don't inadvertently kill their airport!

Has become my favorite mid-country stop on coast-to-coast. Quick turns. Easy in and out with Denver Center on the ground. And Shirley just does it all right. The lunches from Sehnert's Bakery are legendary. This time Shirley did a cheese and fruit plate for us and it was gone by MVA!

I transported a German Shepherd to McCook as a Pilots N Paws mission. Service was good and the young man who serviced the airplane even offered the use of the courtesy car (although I didn't need it). What really shocked me was that I got a "thank you" card in the mail. As far as I know they are the only FBO on the field and didn't have to do that. Very nice and personal touch. I look forward to returning.

OUTSTANDING1! Arrived in with mechanical issue, mechanics diagnosed quickly, ordered part for overnight delivery, gave me a crew car, recommended a hotel, installed part very early next morning AND did a fast IFR certification for me! These guys rock!!!

We flew into McCook on Saturday 7/24 and again on Sunday 7/25. They were enthusiastic, quick, and even asked if we wanted the bugs washed off our windscreen. To top it all off, in today's mail I even received a Thank You card. I guarantee you won't see that kind of service at the bigger FBOs. Obviously, I'm going back the next time I'm headed anywhere near McCook.

A small, friendly FBO. Good fuel price, cold water on a hot day and someone there to park you, fuel you and get you on your way. A good cross country stop.

Nice facility. Great Service. An extra benefit I had tucked my RV in for the night (C/P cover, Pitot cover, control locks, tie downs) and gone to motel. During the night a TS came thru and before the golf ball size hail fell, they moved the plane into the Hangar. Doesn't get better than this.

Excellent and friendly service with outstanding fuel prices. We have used Red Willow Aviation twice for quick turn fuel stops in an Eclipse jet. Each time they fueled the aircraft with 2 fuel hoses, plugged in the GPU, and had the aircraft ready before we where even ready to depart. Great fuel stop!

Great stop. Especially on Sunday morning. It is getting harder to find attended airports and I sincerely appreciate the service provided. Will stop again. Love the grass strip!

July 17, 2009 - This is one of those good old-fashioned airports and FBO's that reflect the best of GA! Diverted here due to weather, but we'll plan this as a stop in the future. Before we entered the pattern we received a radio call asking if we needed fuel. The fuel truck met us as we shut down. We were offered cold bottled water to go, a crew car, and given very friendly and courteous service. Thanks for a great experience!
