Very nice little airport. New terminal is clean and people are helpful. Be sure and call ahead as they rent cars.

KMPI is an unbeatable stop for Yosemite. The staff is extremely helpful, both on the phone to set things up, as well as upon arrival and departure. Parking is convenient and when we were there was plentiful. One note: there is lots of terrain around the airport and the runway has a bit of a slope to it. Approaching in my C414, I was grateful for the VASI, which could be activated through the CTAF, in order to help set up a safe, stabilized approach.

Thanks to Steve and Sharon, they had a car ready and waiting on the ramp. Both were very helpful on the phone and when I got to the airport. Thanks, it made for a wonder weekend in Yosemite.

Sharon did an outstanding job setting us up with a car and after hours drop. She provided a great briefing on getting to the park, complete with map. Thanks!

Sharon was instrumental in making our trip to Yosemite a brilliant success. She arranged for an after hours pick up of a rental car and got us on our way quickly when we dropped the car off. Thanks!

Wow! It's been a couple years since we were last at MPI, and the new FBO is a welcome improvement. The little terminal building has been refurbished. Lots of comfy couches and a huge library of aviation books. We sat on the grass with a few aviation magazines and just watched aircraft come and go for a couple hours. Hertz rental cars are available, fuel is consistently cheaper than most other airports, and there's a tasty greasy burger joint (the Airport Bar & Grill) about a 10-minute walk away. We'll definitely be back.

We arrived on August second for a visit to the Ahwahnee. They pulled our rental car to the self-serve as I was refueling and we were packed, fueled and on the road to Yosemite minutes after landing. The facilities also seem to be repaired. A great stop for a vacation to Yosemite.

My wife and I visit Mariposa each Memorial Day weekend. We overnighted on the ramp 5/29-30/2010. Fueling is efficient and inexpensive. However, we found the facilities neglected from our previous visits. The exterior ramp to the restroom has holes in it and at one point is covered with a board. The restroom light did not work. The sink had not been cleaned recently and drained very slowly. We arrived after closing and left before opening so there was no one to tell. Did leave a note on the tiedown payment envelope. If new management is coming it is hoped that these issues will be addressed. And that the fuel price will not increase ... It is a dollar a gallon less than other California airports.Response from Sharon Coolidge, Mariposa-Yosemite Airport We just rebuilt that wheel chair ramp - KMPI the new FBO is off to doing a lot more improvements; give them a chance!

Stopped at Mariposa for a drive into Yosemite to join friends for the Memorial Day weekend. Enterprise had a car ready, 100LL was $4.33, and the volunteers at the desk were very helpful. A new FBO will be installed this week and will have Hertz rentals on the field and a permanent staff. Good news, as this is a neat little field and close to many Western Sierra venues. Many thanks to the team of volunteers that held the fort before the new FBO was in place.

Nice little airport, enjoy flying into it. Nice big lobby with tons of books and magazines to read. Computer with internet access is great. Large TV, not sure if it works. Nice people have helped me, and I sleep on the couch while I await my passengers.

Flew into MPI after 5pm., the airport was closed. I tried repeatedly all day prior to arrival to get someone to answer the phone with no joy. I left the plane parked and came back two days later after repeatedly calling with no answer. Took off at 7:30am and never did see or speak with anyone attending the airport. Fuel was self-serve and cheapest around, runway in great shape, airport is close to town. Enterprise will deliver a car for $44/day and a $40 delivery fee with a two-day minimum.
