Camped with my son. We had a great time. There are 5 (I think) campgrounds at the end of 21 (opposite the fueling area). Each campsite has a hard surfaced area for a tent, picnic table, fire pit, charcoal grill, running water and electricity! The restrooms are very well kept and have a very clean shower (both male and female). It's a very cool setup. The park service seems confused about the campsite at the airport, even though it is within the park. It is about 5 miles from the airport to Mather's lodge. There is a restaurant there and a great hike down to the falls. You'll need a ride by vehicle to get from the Airport to the lodge. Chris and his wife run the FBO (they now have fuel, 100L was $3.99). Call them and they can get you a ride. Chris was very nice and helpful. Ride Costs $20 RT. The AP number is 501-374-5022 Info on the park is 501-727-5441.

The airport is in great shape and well maintained they now have 100 low lead. We came in and went hiking. The Lodge was happy to pick us up and transport us back the airport.

Best kept secret in Arkansas!! We flew up on Saturday 9/27 to stay in the campground at the end of the runway. All the sites have water, electricity, fire rings & grills. The restroom facilities are "first class"!! Chris, from the FBO, had someone fly over to unlock them for us Saturday afternoon. He couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. No fuel, but its worth the 11mi. Flight to Russellville, just for the view. Wouldn't change a thing here, everything including the runway & grounds are well maintained. I was told they are installing runway lights. We'll make another trip soon.... Can’t wait.

No fuel (but they're supposedly working on it. Nearest fuel is Russellville.) The state cops have THANKFULLY now been banned from practicing high-speed chases on the runway. Runway in good shape. Cable tie-downs are loose, but still useable if careful, and bring your own ropes. No lights. Daytime only. Look out for geese due to pond nearby.

Drove by during recent trip in anticipation of flying in some day. Airport phone number is 501-374-5022. Attendant was very helpful and is looking forward to more company. He indicated transportation to lodge could be arranged quickly.
