Flew in to Montauk on July 11, 2011 with our folding, motorized bikes. In the late afternoon, stopped in at Rick's Crabby Cowboy Cafe so my Dad could reminisce about what the place used to be like back when him and his brother flew in to Montauk in 1960. We spotted an ice cream stand in the restaurant and ordered some. Complimentary cups of refreshing ice water were given to us when I asked about the availability of bottled water. ALL of the waitresses were very nice and friendly. Sat outdoors under the big, white tent, which was relaxing and enjoyable, since it lies DIRECTLY under the flight path for airplanes arriving on Runway 06. Nice place and even nicer folks working there.... Maybe sometime we will try dinner if we're there a bit later.
Had an excellent lunch at Rick's. With great weather we were able to sit outside and watch the approaches to Runway 6, while dining on Shrimp and Clams. Service was excellent and the food very good.
