As a pilot/owner I cannot say enough about this repair station and airport. When I need an oil change or maintenance I can set a time, fly in do an ILS/GPS/VOR approach, taxi up and leave the plane. Have a good lunch at Grandma, s Landing. Take a walk around a nice lake. Pay the bill then taxi out and ground check the VOR. Then ground checks the Compass on a fresh painted compass rose. And fly away a well-feed current pilot with all IFR book entries needed and do all of the above in two hours. I do not know of any other repair station or airport in the Midwest that can do this. Check this out for yourself.

The friendly folks at SRT Aviation made our 06/01/08 stop at Mt. Vernon a pleasant one. Upon arrival, we received a hearty welcome and prompt fill-up. Our meal at the on-field Apple Dumplin' restaurant was topped off with a delicious apple dumpling dessert, compliments of "Bernie" who also welcomed us after we landed. We always appreciate great customer service.

We arrived late and the wonderful folks at SRT were there waiting for us with a warm courtesy car, which was pulled up to the plane on a bitter cold night. They quickly got the airplane moved into the hangar and had us on our way in no time. The next morning the service was equally outstanding, and Shawn was a huge help in solving a problem with the Mooney we were delivering. Outstanding service by everyone there, and I highly recommend SRT!

Stop for fuel and food while headed north on 11/20/07. The FBO was as friendly and polite as last year. This year, there was food on the field, Apple Dumplin. Nice restaurant for a quick bite. We will stop next time.

We flew in recently late in the afternoon and were greeted by very friendly staff. Not only did they welcome us and let us know that they were happy to provide whatever we needed, they actually called us on the CTAF frequency as we were about to depart to thank us for stopping by. Exceptional service!!

We held our KR gathering in Mt Vernon again this year for the fourth straight year and as always everyone at the airport went out of their way to accommodate us. SRT open their hangar showers to those of us that camped for the weekend. The airport manager Chris is in a class of his own and really represents the airport and the people of Mt Vernon very well. We will be back next year and look forward to seeing everyone again. Thanks for all that you all do to help us have a great gathering year after year.

Flew into MVN with my company's Hawker. Parker and Shawn couldn't have been more helpful. Passenger's rental car was waiting planeside, fuel price was fair and they took care of a minor maintenance issue. Easy in and out for a quick turn fuel stop with an ILS and 6500' runway. This is the type of small airport FBO operation that needs to be supported whenever possible.

I've thought about it a lot, but I cannot come up with an image in my mind of an airport more ideal than Mt. Vernon. Terrific runways, great FBO and wonderful restaurant. All together! I urge everyone to plan a trip there just for breakfast or lunch to support this airport. The food at the restaurant is great, the FBO is as friendly as they get. Go there!

If your looking for an airport with a great restaurant located on the field, and one of the best FBO's around, this is the place. Stop in and help support this exceptional facility.

SRT is a great FBO. Friendly, fast service and reliable. Meatball the company mascot dog is a hoot. I highly recommend stopping in and then going down to the Apple Dumpli' Restaurant and get an apple dumpling. Outstanding!

What a great FBO! I called ahead to find a place to tie down and a needed to plug my engine heater in before departure and was very surprised when SRT said they would put my plane in a hangar for two days. Only 25/night for singles and 50/night for twins! These guys just took over this FBO in June and they need our support! Full service fuel and great service, what more can you ask for.

We arrived at quitting time (Dec 28, 2006) and the staff stayed an extra hour to take care of us, another airplane that was following us and an unexpected 3rd airplane that had also arrived. I cannot say enough to really show my appreciation for the extra service they provided. We were all treated like family. My thanks again.

A beautiful airport! Arrived Wednesday before Thanksgiving at dusk. Chris Collins, the airport director and Parker Johnson from SRT Aviation met our 1965 Cherokee 180. Gave us a crew van, tied down the plane, fueled us up, and told us how to get in and leave the next morning (Thanksgiving) when no one would be there. What a wonderful place. Highly recommend it!

Arrived 15 minutes before closing time. The crew stayed around to fuel us and let us have a break before continuing on home. They did not rush us and were very welcoming. This will become a regular stop for us.

Arrived after dark, Sunday night and got prompt attention. Appeared to be an attractive airport, quick service, the line person was very knowledgeable and just good.

This beautiful airport is one of my favorite destinations. The new FBO, SRT Aviation, is great. Everyone from the Airport Manager to the FBO welcome you with open arms. You get the feeling of coming home when you land there. It is truly a full-service FBO, from automatically having your windshield washed when you get fuel to having access to free coffee, chocolate chip cookies and popcorn in their snack room. They have an extremely comfortable pilot lounge and weather center complete with computer and soon to be wi-fi (available at terminal now). Calling this airport "friendly" is an understatement. These people are more like family. Not only not only the staff but also by Meatball, their precious puppy mascot, will probably greet you. This is what an airport is supposed to be like!
