Called ahead to check crew and/or rental car availability. Took a couple of extra calls with the actual local rental car company, but one was arranged. Upon arrival, I gave my usual courtesy fuel order of 30 gallons of jet A and went inside. When I paid, only then did the lineman tell me there was a "handling fee" of $70, which would be waived, with the purchase of 70 gallons. He was generous enough to pro-rate that fee, considering the 30 gallons I did (needlessly) order. Never mind that the only time the airplane was "handled" by them was to chock it (I consider opening the fuel caps part of the fueling process). The FBO was cold enough that I had to use a blanket from the airplane to keep warm while I waited for my passenger to take care of his business. When my passenger returned, he mentioned that the mileage on the rental car was 96,000! Doubtful I'll return.

Made an unplanned stop after hours -- around 7PM -- to wait out some thunderstorms over Omaha. FBO was locked up but there was a sign with directions to a building with a restroom. But it was locked too. It would be so helpful to pilots if airports had an unlocked place with a restroom, local taxi number, nearby restaurants and motels, keys & instructions for the courtesy car (which the AOPA directory says this airport has).

Landed at 5:00pm for business the next morning. Rental car was waiting and ready with directions to the local eateries. Had a maintenance problem that was scheduled for next morning. Arrived at FBO at noon to find the airplane fixed and ready to go. Good stop with friendly and efficient people. Highly recommend.
