Flew into ORD Sept 2000 in a Saratoga, and I am visiting this site because I am about to do it again. However, what I learned back then might be of value to you today. I telephoned the TRACON commander before flying into ORD single engine during prime time on a holiday weekend Friday. He told me single engine pilots are always welcome. For best handling, he said, arrive IFR and depart VFR with a requested altitude for 1800 feet. His advice worked perfectly. Signature picked up my passengers from the terminal and delivered them to the aircraft. I also learned on this trip that you have to yield for other traffic when taxing. They don't control ground traffic at O'Hare to the granular level were use too at other airports. The controllers were extremely nice, and made the joke "Where are you...Oh, there you are! [I couldn't see you because you are so tiny]"

Spoke to Laura over the phone, was trying to plan my trip out to Chicago from Memphis, was kind and courteous as well as helpful. There were suggestions that she made about renting a car over using the courtesy car were appreciating. $28 (handing charges) waived over 7 Gal of fuel, $16 landing fee and $16 per night parking fee over and above the $36 security fee, was twice over what I had to spend over at Midway. However for a small Cessna 172 I think it was alright. Will now look forward on how the service is once I land there on the 9th of July.

$7.66 / gallon? Are they kidding. You are better off flying to ORD, then just abandoning your aircraft and buying a new one, than to pay to fill it up!!!!!!

Signature was very friendly and helpful, and prompt in taking me to the airport hotel and picking me up on my return. Fuel is expensive but parking is extremely reasonable. The controllers at ORD are the professionals you would expect, and I had no untoward delays on arrival or departure, or for taxi. A great place to fly in a Mooney!

Signature at Chicago O'Hare is the best-kept secret in aviation. Flew in on a Thursday in my Saratoga (e-CVRS arrival reservation in hand). Signature has no hangars there, but put me near an outlet to plug my Reiff heater in. Weekend $0.50 fuel discount brought the fuel down to near my home-field rates, and the fuel purchase waived the $28.00 landing fee. Parking for 3 nights at $14.91/night made this stay very easy on the budget. Arrival on rwy 28 meant a long taxi, but departing was given 32R intersection V which couldn't have been easier. I guess the only "Gotcha" is that only 4 GA reservations are available per hour, so you need to plan ahead.

Arrived on a really bad day with delays and lots of snow. The van was waiting for our passenger and was handled very well. Clara at the front counter was a delight and very friendly. When we ordered fuel, things really started going bad. ($290.00 Handling Charge, $60.30 Landing Fee, $60.33 Parking Fee and $7.32 a gallon for Jet-A) First the line crew fueled the wrong airplane. When they fueled us they didn’t, t use mats and set the hose nut and coupling on the de-ice boots. It seems to be happening more and more lately allover the country. Please USE MATS! Then when they were finished, the lineman reeled up the ground cable without unclipping it first and it banged off the gear door and left a scratch. If it were up to me, I would avoid Signature ORD whenever possible. It is not typical of other Signatures such as MSP or LAS.

Signature at O'Hare was thoroughly professional and welcoming to our C-172. Fees were $36 for security, $10.99 for landing and $10.99/night parking. The handling fee was waived with fuel. Arriving mid-week for a week's stay, they volunteered that fuel was cheaper on the weekend and offered to top-off then. After learning of Chicago Executive's (formerly Palwaukee) overnight tie-down fee of $50/night (!), it was a no-brainer to go to O'Hare. The controllers were patient and friendly. The Signature staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome amidst the many bizjets. Free shuttle to the terminal. Will be back.

The fees keep climbing. $36 security, $16.27 landing, $16.27/night parking, etc. $27 handling fee waived with 7 gallon fuel purchase. I flew a Piper Malibu in and was the smallest plane on the field. Signature was great. They were very helpful and GA friendly. I think they see very few prop planes, so they’re nice to you because you are the exception.
