Thought that I would fly my little Piper Seneca into ORD. The ground costs are: $36 Landing Fee $36 Signature Parking Fee $65 Signature Handling Fee $36 Signature Security Fee and 100LL gas is only $7.61/gal!!! I don't think so!

Challenger 300 crew. All staff did a great job, especially since we arrived at nearly midnight. CSR was prompt to meet our request for a vehicle ramp side due to our pax tight schedule. Had 4 inches snow overnight, and line crew was efficient at de-icing. Good experience. Recommend the Holiday Inn Suites nearby.

Flew into ORD Sept 2000 in a Saratoga, and I am visiting this site because I am about to do it again. However, what I learned back then might be of value to you today. I telephoned the TRACON commander before flying into ORD single engine during prime time on a holiday weekend Friday. He told me single engine pilots are always welcome. For best handling, he said, arrive IFR and depart VFR with a requested altitude for 1800 feet. His advice worked perfectly. Signature picked up my passengers from the terminal and delivered them to the aircraft. I also learned on this trip that you have to yield for other traffic when taxing. They don't control ground traffic at O'Hare to the granular level were use too at other airports. The controllers were extremely nice, and made the joke "Where are you...Oh, there you are! [I couldn't see you because you are so tiny]"

Spoke to Laura over the phone, was trying to plan my trip out to Chicago from Memphis, was kind and courteous as well as helpful. There were suggestions that she made about renting a car over using the courtesy car were appreciating. $28 (handing charges) waived over 7 Gal of fuel, $16 landing fee and $16 per night parking fee over and above the $36 security fee, was twice over what I had to spend over at Midway. However for a small Cessna 172 I think it was alright. Will now look forward on how the service is once I land there on the 9th of July.

$7.66 / gallon? Are they kidding. You are better off flying to ORD, then just abandoning your aircraft and buying a new one, than to pay to fill it up!!!!!!
