Nice small field, and easily the best way to get to Orcas. Runway is in good shape. Fuel is expensive, but since it has to be barged in, what do you expect? Easy to walk into town - and you can even camp on the field (grass area)!

A really nice place to stay for a night or two if you are a camper. An easy airstrip to get into and a nice grass field with tiedowns (bring rope) and the ability to pitch a tent. You can walk to town on a nice path or rent a car. Ask for access to the showers...There's a trick. A beautiful place, to be sure.

The small terminal at the SE corner of the field at ORS is primarily for the local airline traffic, but has rest rooms and lots of brochures for things to do. There is a must-take easy foot path (about 10-15 min) to the nearest little scenic shopping village of Eastsound, well worth the visit, lots of restaurants. Try either The Kitchen or Bilbo's for a great lunch with outdoor seating available. Interesting note: a fabulous experience is horseback riding through the lushly forested Moran State Park. Call the nice folks at the only family-run stable on the island and they can pick you up from the airport. Ask for "Ginger" to be your guide. Ride in the morning then have lunch in town, and you've had a great day on Orcas that most tourists will never see, unless you are a pilot.
