Orcas is a great 2 day trip from Portland and feels like isolated Canada or Alaska, but a lot closer. This place- Kangaroo House is super nice, pilot friendly, easy walking distance from tie down area. The owners are very likable and give good information about things to do after breakfast. Wish they had a way to reserve a room without a cancellation fee if the weather gets bad. If they did, we'd come more often. We loved hanging out till 10am over their truly excellent breakfast and locally roasted (strong) coffee our first morning and got their breakfast to go at 6am the next day, also good. You can't beat this trip and this place for quick getaway.
