I flew to Payson last Saturday and met up with 30 other member pilots of the Vintage Mooney Group. The picnic / camping area easily accommodated the 60 plus people we had in attendance. The free firewood rack was full. The Full Service Guaranteed price of $4.49 for 100LL (less a 10-cent group discount) was exactly what was charged. What isn't advertised is how nice the fuel truck driver was. Always a plus to meet someone who is polite and courteous. The VMG will be back.

Beautiful place to fly to. Very good service from FBO. We had a wonderful time in the area and highly recommend it.

Visited Payson on Wed. Apr. 11 about noon en route to see a friend staying at the Rim Nursing Home. No one evident on the transient ramp but I finally found a couple men working under a fuel truck. One of them agreed (reluctantly, it seemed) to bring their other truck around to fuel my C-210. Fuel price is pretty reasonable for these days ($4.09) especially since it was not Self-Serve. No crew car available, but the fueler/FBO mgr was willing to dial the local taxi service number for us. Adequate handling and inexpensive fuel, but I certainly came away with the feeling that they could care less if we stopped by or not. C'est la vie, I reckon...

Wonderful stop half way between El Paso and Las Vegas. Quick and courteous fill up, with a great breakfast at Crosswinds, which was incredibly crowded with locals as well as transient pilots. Outstanding airport!
