Stayed one week at Paragould. PGR runway is in perfect condition, excellent courtesy car for lunch and good price on rental cars at Hoppe Car Sales. Fuel prices are below surrounding airports and services provided by Eddie are second to none. Several restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. I highly recommend Paragould as a cross-country stopping point.

My wife and I stopped by PGR on our way to Illinois from Texas. I called the airport from Mena, AR, and was offered the use of the courtesy car for the evening. Upon our arrival, 15 minutes ahead of schedule, there was no-one at the airport. I called the number for the attendant, and received a very cold reception, was told, "let's get one thing straight, I don't know who you talked to this afternoon, but I didn't work today, and we're not letting you take the car overnight." That was sad. I got my private ticket at Paragould in 1988. This was nothing like the Paragould I left as a kid. My wife and I packed up and flew to Kennett, MO, which has cheaper fuel anyway, for the evening. Sammy Jewell and Wally Thomas were superb hosts. In the future, I'll overfly KPGR and stop at Kennett. Sad, and a disappointment.

Fuel prices as advertised. Fueling Service was excellent! Thanks E.T. The Grecian Steak House (end of field) was convenient but not that great.

Stopped for fuel from NC to OK. Easy in and out. Very reasonable fuel. Will stop again.
