Used KPRN as a planned fuel stop between Miami, FL and Little Rock. Good, 5,000 ft runway. The airport attendant met us on the ramp and fueled the plane immediately. We went into the air-conditioned office and ate our lunch in comfort on the couches in the lounge. They had a homemade cake for visitors and I made a pot of coffee in the kitchen. The wonderful gentleman who fueled the plane gave me some tips on airspace and frequencies for the leg to KLIT. This is how airports USED to be and should be still!

We battled horrific headwinds and landed here short of our intended destination at 4:45PM. Nobody was home but a man arrived shortly and cheerfully fueled us up.

Very nice people there but you can't always count on them to be there. Don't get in a position where they are your only option for Jet A or at least call first. I ended up in a tight spot a few times after landing there expecting them to be open and/or have Jet A.

Nice stop. Travis came out and fueled my Mooney immediately. Had cold water to help with thirst and gave us great tips for navigating through the MOAs. He was planning on making Sun N Fun. Hope he and his plane made it through the bad storm there ok.

Was planning on stopping at KPRN for some Jet-A on Friday Jan. 7th, fortunately I called ahead to make sure they had gas. They did have gas but the FBO operator would not be available on a Friday due to a prior obligation and had nobody else lined up to be available to fuel aircraft as there is no self serve pump. I was astonished that he could miss an opportunity to sell 100 gallons of fuel. I would definitely call and make sure someone will be available!

Stopped on the way home from SERFI. Great small town airport with nice long well marked strip. Travis helped us fuel up and had a nice chat as well. I will make this a stopping point whenever possible.

BE FOREWARNED. I diverted to KPRN due to weather. AOPA listed the FBO as open to 1630 local, but I arrived before 1600 and found no one there. I called one of the local hotels and was told there was no shuttle service AND no taxi service was available in town! Fortunately the weather allowed me to make the 10-minute flight to KMGM where I knew there was an open FBO and taxis.
