Overnighted here on a trip from Calif. and found a first class operation. Gail had a hangar available, courtesy car, and a great lodging recommendation. Prices are the best around for fuel, etc. This is a top notch stop, nice airport, and nice people.

Great place to land and get gas! Very nice FBO and an extremely helpful group of local pilots. One of the flight instructors there even offered me a courtesy car and helping hand fueling my Mooney. It's places like this that remind me why it is so fun to fly GA.

On a long cross-country, I called ahead and arranged for the courtesy call to be available after hours to get to the Super8. It was ready to go when I landed around 8PM. Fuel price was excellent. The next morning the friendly airport manager Gail double-checked to see if everything had gone OK. Nice, friendly airport. Good place to stop for the night.

Our favorite fuel stop between Fort Collins, CO and the Midwest. This stop was special as we found out the terminal is being renamed in honor of Norm Yeager, long time local pilot, instructor, and all around great guy at Red Oak. Congratulations, Norm!

Great little airport. Easy in and out. Very clean terminal & restrooms, all freshly painted. After-hours lobby and restrooms on the left side of the main hangar. Self-service fuel facility has excellent access and the CC machine is easy to use. Prices are as posted on AirNav & are one of the best prices for fuel in Iowa. Good flight planning computer in daytime terminal and a spacious pilot lounge. There's a loaner car for a run into town for food or supplies. Drinks & Snacks available. Nice to see that Red Oak cares so much about their airport & general aviation.

Very nice airport with friendly folks. Gas price is very competitive with nice self-service facilities. I did not utilize the FBO but they did offer me a courtesy car. I will return frequently.

As the other users have commented, this airport is a gem. I flew in there with my RV-7 on my way from Cheyenne to Detroit on a Friday afternoon and was really impressed with the amount of service in Iowa. Very friendly people. Gail (I believe it was) noticed we were snacking on a few chips and soda in the lounge (reasonable prices, btw) - and said we were welcome to take the courtesy car into town if we felt like something more substantial. My girlfriend couldn't say yes fast enough, and we were off to find a sandwich. HIGHLY recommended on a X-C to stop in and see for yourself! I'll be back if Red Oak is even 50 miles off my routing!

Once again Gail displayed his managerial and hosting skills when our RV-8 decided that it was too hot to fly on. (102 deg. Don't you hate it when the airplane is smarter than you.) He quickly came up with good recommendations for a hotel, restaurant and hangar space. After helping put the plane away for the night he provided us with a courtesy car for the stay. Overall, a good experience at an excellent facility with decent fuel prices.

Hats off to Gail the airport manager for taking care of my Skyhawk and me on the way to Florida. After hangaring the airplane I took the courtesy car to the Carriage House Inn for the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Red Oak is a very picturesque town full of friendly folks.

Friendly place. The airport manager helped me put gas in my Skyhawk. He also came out early on a Monday morning so that I could beat some thunderstorms to my destination. Thanks, Gail!

Red Oak is great. We stopped on the way from MI to CO and back for fuel both ways. Manager Gail even came out after hours to get us into town for lodging. The people are great and I'll make a point to stop here whenever I can.

Excellent stop! Got there late and the local pilots helped me out with good directions and a push to the tie-downs, even loaned the rope to tie down with. The courtesy car was clean and the same pilots were there the next morning to help push to the pumps. It is always refreshing to meet fellow aviators willing and able to offer whatever assistance is necessary. I'll always keep Red Oak on my stop by and visit list. Thanks again!

Quite simply one of the best experiences that I've had in 24 years of general aviation. Two transient aircraft (one mine) in a one hour span late on a Friday afternoon with minor mechanical issues and Gail Ernst the airport manager couldn't do enough for both of us - transportation, hangar space, finding tools, getting parts, hotel recommendations and whatever else was needed. A nice facility with a truly great manager. Visit Red Oak on your next trip to Iowa -- you won't be disappointed.
