I look forward to returning to RKW. Great fuel prices and great and friendly service. Danny Collins is a tremendous asset to the operation of this airport.

From Mike O'Keeffe on 08-Aug-2008
We've visited RKW 3 times in the last 30 days and each visit is perfect. Danny the airport manager runs the facility and keeps it spotless. Great service, great location and unbelieveable fuel price. While fixing a broken aircraft Danny bent over backwards to accommodate us and ensure our visit was pleasant and productive. Kudos to the City of Rockwood and Rockwood Aviation for offering such nice facilities and highly experienced management. Thanks for the great service and unbeatable fuel prices, you can rest assured I'll be back!!!

This airport is a must stop if you're just traveling around or have business anywhere near Rockwood. Danny made us feel more than welcomed at KRKW. His hospitality on top of the beautiful view on landing makes this a diamond in the rough. I would highly suggest stopping in even if it's to stretch your legs.

Danny and Liberty were most helpful with our stop there a few months ago. Great fuel prices, friendly service, beautiful scenery..... There isn't much more you can ask for (they even have Wi-Fi!)! Danny definitely runs a tight ship and went above and beyond to help us out with our long layover in our Citation. I hope my travels bring me to Rockwood again.

I recently flew into Rockwood with my previous flight instructor to be dropped off for a few days, as always the staff at RKW could not have been any better...This is the 3rd time I've been to this gem of an airport and have found only exceptional service. Danny had the number to a quick & very fair cab service for the ride to Spring City. I have regrets that I missed the recent "fly-in" a couple of weeks ago; I greatly enjoyed last year's Thanks Again to Danny & Crew!!

From Jeff Page on 22-Apr-2008
Changed our plans and stopped there at 5:30pm on Sunday. We intended to grab a cab to town for overnight. However, everything was locked up and there was no gate to allow us out of the barbed wire fence! Fortunately, the credit card fuel system worked well, so we filled up and flew to another airport. Newly paved runway and taxiway.

Response from Danny Collins, Rockwood Aviation, LLC
Mr. Page to the left of the 20' gate is a 4' man gate that is open 24/7..... Sorry you had problems. Thanks for stopping at RKW!

On ferry flight back from CA to VA. Great facilities, friendly staff. The fastest fuel turnaround that I ever had. Cool collection of memorabilia in the FBO building. Runway recently resurfaced and in excellent shape. Beautiful mountain views in the pattern. Oh, and competitive fuel prices. What more do you want?

This might be the friendliest airport that you will ever find. Great facilities, wonderful personnel, and breathtaking views.

From Mike Holland on 07-Dec-2007
Great little airport perched on a ridge just off I-40. A good GA alternative to TYS. Very complete office/lounge with weather info. Avgas is a bit pricey but considering no charge for tie downs it's a wash. Will stop again.

From Tom Barger on 04-Oct-2007
What a great airport. The runway appears to be brand new and the taxiways are scheduled for completion in 9 days, according to the folks there. The airport manager was very friendly and helped me fuel the plane. Weather facilities and Internet are available to pilots. I highly recommend this airport!

From Daniel Wiley on 02-Oct-2007
Great little airport! Although the pump is a 24hr self-serve, the guy on duty came out and helped me re-fuel on a quick turn at Rockwood. Cheap fuel, and good service! Thanks for your help - hope to be back soon when the taxiway is finished!

From Greg Hudkins on 26-Sep-2007
Always had good things to say about RKW but this time something to write about. On pre-flight for Houston discovered fuel leak. Newly located AP/IA, John Keigans stopped what he was doing and had me squared away in 15 min. Thanks John. Taxi construction appears near completion, runway in excellent shape.

Rockwood Aviation is a professional operation. Danny makes every effort to assist pilots and passengers. Nice facility, Internet available. Very large ramp for large aircraft, allows turnaround room to use fuel pumps. Danny will assist with fueling. Courtesy car, rental car available. This is a great alternative for Knoxville (TYS). Quiet pilots lounge. Lunch available upon request. Visited 8-21-2007.

From Philip King on 19-May-2007
Wide runway in excellent condition. They are adding a taxiway too. Danny provided excellent friendly service with fuel at reasonable prices. Decent rental car was available on the field for $45 a day. Highly recommended airport.

Stopped in for fuel more than once and each time I was met by a helpful young man. Nice guy to talk to and very quick in helping you get fueled. A good place to stop. Thanks!!!

From Ken Carmichael on 02-Aug-2006
Count me as 1 more satisfied customer of the Rockwood Airport. Danny is as friendly as he can possibly be and the facilities are first rate. I look forward to my next visit.

From Bill Richards on 28-May-2006
What a great place! Fuel prices are unbeatable, service is great and friendly, and RW is newly surfaced. Tyler Moore worked hard to make our refueling stop fast and efficient. And, it looks like economy of the surrounding area is poised to grow.

From Mike Hodge on 02-May-2006
Having landed at RKW dozens of times in the last 3 years, I have yet to have anything other than very positive experiences there. Danny Collins is extremely professional, friendly and will do whatever he can to help. If you want a quick turn, or want to take your time, drop into Rockwood. You will enjoy the experience.

From David Kindley on 01-May-2006
Amazing Southern hospitality! Pressed for time, we couldn't go to get lunch, and Danny offered to share his with us! Good facilities, old-time FBO feel with memorabilia all over, awesome fuel prices - this is what an FBO SHOULD be!

From Lou Smith on 09-Mar-2006
I spent some time at RKW today (dropped off and waited for my passenger). The owner/manager, Danny, was most cordial and allowed me to use a car to get a bite to eat down the road. The facility is very clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the fuel prices. I look forward to many returns!

From Ryan Fisher on 01-Feb-2006
Stopped in after-hours for fuel on my way back home. Quaint, clean and very modern looking facility for being out in the middle of nowhere! The 24-hour self serve was very convenient and the fuel price unbeatable. Word of caution: be careful with the 100LL nozzle. It has a somewhat awkward shape and will easily scratch your paint if not held completely away from the wing.
