I have flown into SGS and parked at the City/South St Paul FBO twice already in 2009. Both times, I have experienced wonderful service from the airport staff Glenn and Chris, including tug, heated hangar, and reasonably priced 100LL. If you are headed to the Minneapolis area, give KSGS a try.

Stopped both directions on a Thanksgiving week flight to Western Minnesota. FBO Manager Glenn Burke and his whole staff were very accommodating; he even provided his personal cell number in case we arrived after hours on the return leg. My Cardinal spent three nights in a nice hangar at a reasonable cost. Good fuel price, nice facilities. I highly recommend this GA airport when in the MSP area.

Nice terminal building, reasonable priced gas, easy to use self-serve fuel

Nobody there when we got there, but a prior phone call let us know we were welcome. There were plenty of tie down spaces for transients, no ropes, we are used to that and so carry our own. Nice FBO spaces. Minneapolis approach was very helpful both on arrival and departure.

I stopped at Fleming Field because the fuel was $1.75/gal cheaper then Downtown Holman. Justin was there and was a big help. The temp was below Zero and he got me a spot in a heated hangar and gave me his cell number so I could find him when I left Sunday. Since there were high winds and blowing snow, he drove the runway ahead of me to make sure there were no drifts. I will be back.

We stopped and stayed overnight a couple of times with our Caravan because of the cheap fuel. After the first time, you learn how to get along. Suggest you call ahead, find where to go, and make arrangements. Though it is a SS facility, someone will help you.

Be prepared to wander aimlessly if you arrive after dark, as parking is not obvious (later found good parking with tie downs right in front of the terminal) Dirt-cheap fuel and $15/WEEK or $30/MONTH tie downs with extension cords available for your engine heater. Nice stop.

Normally I go to STP (Holman-downtown STP) but South St. Paul is very convenient. I emailed in advance and they had a courtesy car available for me to drive downtown - about 15 minutes. Fuel at $2.99 is a bargain but the pump cuts off at 100 gals. I had to re-run the card, which is a hassle. I saved at least $160 by stopping at SGS to fill my Duke. I'll be back. (By the way, the pump hose is now plenty long enough for twin)
