Everything was pre-arranged and confirmed by the front desk when I reserved the car rental and gave my time of arrival by phone... But when we were fifteen minutes out no one answered the company frequency and on the ramp was no rental car, as a matter of fact the girl at the front desk didn't even have record of a car rental reservation! This was probably the worst service I've seen at an FBO, no enthusiasm to make it right or offer some sort of compensation.

I arrived at 1 a.M. on Sunday morning. Earlier in the day I called TAC Air, told them of my arrival time and asked for a rental car. I gave them my rental car company membership number. I've done this many times.... No problem. The rental car company didn't deliver the car. TAC Air graciously allowed me to use a crew car, even though my departure time wasn't until 4 a.M. Monday. That's good customer service.

After landing at KSHV Air on a recent Angel Flight, I parked as the TAC Air marshal instructed me on the TAC Air ramp, and line was helpful in moving the passengers and luggage to the FBO. I left the jet stair open as I planned to be inside with my passengers for just a few minutes. I was delayed much longer than anticipated helping them get a cab and accommodations - not the normal routine. Imagine my surprise upon returning to the ramp to find out I had been towed several hundred yards with my brakes on. The plane suffered major wear and tear to the brake system, which will now require costly repairs. I have not received any offers from TAC Air to help me remedy this situation in any way. Be sure you have your brakes off boys and girls. I cannot recommend TAC Air as an FBO. We all make mistakes - its what we do with them afterwards that matter. UPDATE:
Wes Williams the manager of the TAC Air FBO and I had a great conversation to resolve this matter in a way we could both live with. I am happy with the solution we arrived at to solve this situation. I would recommend TAC Air as a great place to stop for all pilots.

We needed a quick break and KSHV was off the nose. Two flushes, ten minutes, $30 fee. But I'm sure that was due to all the extra marshaling required of our Baron. If we'd been in a Bo (singles take up less space and time, apparently), the fee would have only been $10. Um, we won't be back...

Nice facility, staff was very pleasant and offered a ride from our aircraft to the terminal building. Fuel was extremely expensive at $5.27, two dollars more than at my home base. Offered an excellent suggestion for lunch.

Got a quick-turn in a Cirrus SR20 trying to beat an approaching thunderstorm. This is a good place for a fuel stop if you need full service from ATC and the FBO and an ILS.

We flew into TAC Air in SHV and stopped for lunch. The staff was very courteous to us and let us use the courtesy car which was very nice. Very nice people. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent line service. Incredibly helpful and friendly at the desk and very clean facility. FBO lacks some of the perks that you usually get with a fuel price like this. No mouthwash, no iced tea, no cookies, no lounge, limited flight planning facility.

Great place if you are just passing through except fuel is a little high. If you have to stand by it can be a different story. I had to sit standy on a medical flight in the middle of the night and there is not a single place that you can find to get any sleep. The one room you can you can't turn off the lights and the General Manager will get on your case if you do take them off, even if you are the only crew there. You would think a preferred FBO would have somewhere you can rest or at least have the manager work with you at least. This is not an 8 to 5 job.

Stopped in and stayed the weekend in SHV on 4-3-09. Line guy met us at the plane (c172); he had it tied down before we left the airport. They also had our rental car waiting. Top-notch service. No complaints at all about TAC AIR at KSHV.
