WARNING: As of 5/11/06, FAA had proposed canceling the VOR/DME RNAV OR GPS RWY 18 approach due to lack of use. This is the only straight-in approach to this airport. Many companies require their pilots to use higher-than-published minimums when flying circle-to-land approaches, in which case, those companies may no longer be able to use this airport during IFR conditions. If you disagree with FAA's proposed cancellation, contact: Federal Aviation Administration National Flight Procedures Group P.O. Box 25082 Oklahoma City, OK 73125

If you arrive during business hours, you will be directed to park on the ramp, where they will pump out of the truck. If you want cheap SS fuel, park north of the hangar that is north of the terminal. The pumps may be hidden by parked aircraft until you get close.

Just to even the playing field a little I'd like to respond to Mike Jacobs Sept. 27 comment: I base elseware, but because SLG always seems to offer the best value in AV gas at the self serve pump, I refuel both my V35B Bonanza and my Cessna 152 there to help support their efforts. In all these years I've never bought contaminated fuel there - even fuel purchased for both planes (several times) during the month of Sept. 05 when he wrote about his experience. I'll continue to support SLG because they support us.
