No engine pre-heat available at Truckee.

Flew in on September 30 for the week. Very nice airport, runways in very good conditions. Fuel very reasonable. FBO staff very helpful, nice food court. Rental car right next door. A+

We flew in on 7-29-12 for lunch at the Red Truck Cafe, which is now open 9 am -- 3 pm, 7 days a week, in the terminal building. Delicious, inventive, gourmet-food-truck type food. Self-serve 100LL was $5.13 (quite cheap for this day and age.) The pilot's lounge is luxurious, there's a nice large lawn and deck for watching all the airport activity, and rental cars are available. Watch the density altitude, though...It was 8, 500' when we arrived.

Brand new terminal building is now open. Gorgeous new facility with FREE Wifi. Try it, you'll like it!

New self serve pumps are now fully operational. Two pumps - one on each side of the tank.

Nice to see an airport with cross wind runways!! Very nice airport; new terminal is under construction, but the current one works fine. No FBO, but none needed. Hertz will leave keys at the airport office upstairs for pick up and drop off. You can drive onto the ramp during daytime hours. Very convenient. Overnight fees reasonable, too.

Flew in over July 4th weekend. Plenty of parking. Ramp fees $7/night for single. Cafe is open and sandwiches are good too. Would make a great stop for those traveling between SoCal and the Pac NW.

Can't beat the location if you're going to North Star. Won't take a fuel order over the phone!?

From Ken Maples on 20-Aug-2010

Self-serve fuel is being relocated. As of August 2010 the only fuel is from the truck. However while self-serve is out of order the price from the truck is the same as the price at self serve with no rollout fee.
