Lunch was excellent, especially the quiche and rice pudding! Lunch portions were, in my view, rather small, so eat your breakfast. The toy museum is a hit-or-miss, as they have issues with finding volunteers to run it for the day, and thus was closed today. The whole ground is wonderfully kept, and is perfect for us city folks to get away. There is a trail that connects the airport to the farm just across the street from the restaurant. Bring comfortable shoes - you'll be doing a lot of walking on grass and gravel trails!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on 6/25/10 and had a wonderful meal. Just follow the signs behind the hangar next to the fuel pumps to get to the restaurant. The menu is somewhat fixed with about three to four selections. The food was amazing and extremely cheap. This isn't the typical cafe style airport food. They serve both individual and family style portions. The restaurant and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. There is also a gift shop, a toy museum, accommodations, and amphitheatre on the grounds. Do yourself a favor and give this business a try, you won't be disappointed. My wife and I are avid 100-dollar hamburger fliers and this makes the top of our list. Visit their website for more info.

Check out the newly reopened Bluebird Hill restaurant and gift shop just a 1, 000 foot delightful hike through the woods on a cleared trail marked with "bluebird" signs along the way. Pick up the trail right across the road behind the maintenance hangar. The cozy restaurant (with an outdoor dining patio) and gift shop are part of a 55 acre rustic farm complex that recently re-opened (April 2010) after being closed when the owner passed away. The deceased 79 year old woman had the foresight to donate the property to the Parks Commission who has now found vendors to run the restaurant and gift shop. The grounds include fountains, gardens, a nature trail that takes you over creeks and thru a covered bridge as well as a performing amphitheater where various forms of entertainment take place in season. We had a great lunch at reasonable prices along with the owners signature wedding soup made from a family recipe. Highly recommend checking out and supporting this new operation.
