Great customer service at Venice Jet Center inside and outside, lineman is great! Clean, very nice FBO. Hertz rental office with cars at the FBO, so no delivery fee from an office somewhere in town. My plane needed some avionic checks during my stay and Venice Aviation Services is fantastic! Fast service. Will be back

Called FBO to ask for a cab, was told that she can't call one unless I'm standing in their building, didn't want to wait 20min after arrival, so I asked her for their Unicom-freq., which she aggressively answered. I told her our call sign and that we need a cab, her answer was she has to hang up now. We landed, nobody around... I asked the lady for our cab, she was very unfriendly. When I mentioned that the waiting time was the reason why I called and asked her to organize transportation for us, she aggressively responded that we are "welcomed to walk to Sharkys". I will never use this FBO again nor will I recommend it to anybody, it seems that they have no idea what customer service is! I'd recommend parking your plane anywhere else and calling your cab by yourself. And if you need fuel, plan a stop at a near airport, but Venice Jet Center: NO NO NO!
Response from Bob Gaff, Director of Operations, Venice Jet Center Unfortunately, ALL pilots flying into Venice requesting taxi service through us are needed to be in the FBO before the call can be made. This need originated from the taxi companies themselves (not the FBO) after a number of incidences in the past when calls were made to the taxi companies on behalf of pilots requesting this service from their planes, while inbound. These frequently resulted in taxicabs showing up before the passengers. Over time, these companies informed us that they would no longer wait indefinitely when arriving at the FBO. Routinely, calls for taxis are made after the passengers are in the FBO and by far, the vast majority quite understands. Additionally, since the distance to the restaurant is not long, we always offer people the courtesy suggestion of making the short walk as it could often take less time than waiting for a taxi ride.

I go to Venice quite a bit since its one of those magic airports just over 50nm away for our building. I usually fly down and eat at one of the three very close restaurants on or near the field. Usually I park in front of the Honolulu Grill and call them to let me through the gate. I went on a Sunday when they were closed once and a lineman from the FBO approach me in a golf cart, told me quickly that the restaurant was closed, and that I needed to register at the FBO. The whole time he treated me strangely, like I was a criminal. He then drove away without offering me a ride. It's probably about 3500 feet from the Honolulu grill to the FBO and I had already tied down so I walked. Since its one of the only experiences with the FBO I have had, it's left me a negative feeling of the FBO at VNC.

Friendly service and attentive. Flew in for dinner at the Honoluana Island Grill. The lineman was there when we pulled in and picked up some cones we blasted over with our propwash while parking. Be careful though, the tiedowns are metal chains, something I'd rather not pick up with the prop.

We stopped in to Venice Jet Center last week and received excellent service by the desk and line personnel. We had a great Cuban breakfast at their restaurant, the Cockpit Café. The restaurant is in the terminal building and serves breakfast and lunch. The SS and FS fuel prices are competitive with other local fields.

I fly into Venice four to five times per year and always look forward to the experience! Everyone is always so friendly and willing to help you with whatever needs you may have, such as renting a car or getting fuel. Caroline, Susan, Joanne, Abby, Bob, Mark - they're all a terrific bunch and I appreciate them all! The new Jet Center is impressive - I recommend the place to everyone.

I have been doing business with the people at the Venice FBO for twenty years and to me they set the high standard that all other FBO's should meet. I have always found Susan and the others to be the professional in their work. I will always use the Venice FBO.

Beautiful new facilities with impeccable amenities and exceptional customer service. I find my routine flights to VNC greatly enhanced by an FBO that is always friendly, helpful, and willing to do whatever it takes to take care of the passengers, the crew, and the aircraft! Thanks for such a great job---Keep up the good work!

I just happened to see the comments by Horst about his experience at Venice airport, a place I visit regularly. I have to say, I've always had a great time when flying in and always found both ground crew and inside personnel attentive and extremely helpful. I have to wonder if he is speaking about the same place, as he says that the people behind the desk were playing computer games. I noticed that in the new building where the FBO is, you couldn’t see the computers as they are situated under the counter and are visible through a glass in the top of the counter. He'd have had to go behind the counter and I can't imagine that happening. Hopefully, Horst will go somewhere else next time. We sure don't need him in Venice.

The service on Saturday was good. Guy in a golf cart was right there to help with re-fueling and they let us drive the car up to the airplane to unload our baggage. I'd say at least on par with most other airports I have been to across the country. Very friendly. Thursday was a very different story. I wasn't allowed to drive the car up to the plane, no golf cart for us to use either (it was there, we just couldn't use it)! Pay the $48 (for 5 days, Single engine, nothing off for buying fuel, also their monthly rate) and I'd better like it! I had to haul all our stuff out to the plane by hand and that was quite a way in at least 100-degree heat. They weren't busy or doing something else. I had about 130 Lbs of luggage. I could be wrong, might just be me, however I got the distinct impression I was a whole lot of trouble. My being there to use the airport.

We were on a vacation trip through Florida with six German pilots in three Piper Warriors, landed in Venice to refuel our airplanes. Were ignored by the desk staff from Venice Jet Center. Temperature was about 100. No one to marshal us in, no signs, no nothing. We parked somewhere near all of the other singles and walked to wait for a chance at a luggage cart (golf cart parked in front of the office). The lady and the line boy were playing computer games. Asked for fuel, and were told: "at first I must see your credit card or do you go shopping without paying for your shirt?" It was our 15th trip through the USA and we had never had such a bad experience. It was the worst service I've ever seen. Please excuse my English!

Outstanding Service. I had an unexpected diversion to VNC while en route to SRQ when I lost all communications. Venice Jet Center was very friendly and helpful in aiding me through how to get back in en route. This was my first communication failure and I really was at a loss for what to do in a rental 172 at an airport other than my own, Thanks for all your help! Now I own a handheld backup radio.

Great airport and FBO. Perfect place for a $100 burger, their ground crew is always there to help. The crew car is not available to go to restaurants that serve alcohol, but cabs are available ($6 to Sharky's). Sharky's do NOT provide shuttle services anymore, but their service, food, and location is still just as great.

We spent an enjoyable week in South Florida with our plane tied down at Venice Jet Center. The facility is modern and comfortable with WI-FI and a place to work. Preflight found a mechanical problem and John McCormack of Venice Aviation Services on the field obtained needed parts overnight and repaired the plane the day that the parts arrived. He and his staff were most helpful and pushed our transient plane to the front. I highly recommend this competent repair facility to anyone needing help in the Venice area.

A nice stop. I elected to use full serve and waive the overnight fee. The lineman helped us tie down to their cable system, loaded our bags on his golf cart, and drove right to the parking lot. Nice service, good facility.

Flew in with my son on April 11 to have lunch with Dad. Line guy pointed us to parking, then pushed us back and asked if he could do anything else for us. More than helpful all around. Can't wait to come back and stay more than a couple of hours.

FBO is very modern and has very helpful people both at the desk and on the ramp. The crew lounge is comfortable and has a shower but is right in the high traffic area so it's not quiet. There is no crew car. If you are waiting for your passengers, you'll have to rent a car to go anywhere. There are two good restaurants on the field. The only thing I didn't like was paying a $75 ramp fee or purchase 100 gallons of jet fuel at $4.32 for a King Air. I thought this was way too much for a small airport like Venice.

Stopped in 3/07/07 to pick up a passenger. Line crew was there immediately. Tied down plane while asking me if there was anything they could do. Also recommended self serve. Very friendly and helpful.
