The Harmon's Rocket Shop Cafe is one of the better airport diner's around. For perspective, it's just about as good at the Runway Cafe at Camarillo, CA (KCMA). The waitresses are extremely nice, the service is great and the food is pretty good. NASCAR theme, with a gift shop and several large flat screen TV's at the fully stocked bar (for your pax). There is ample transient parking, with tiedowns, just feet from the cafe entrance. The cafe is located in the extreme northwest corner of the field, so keep taxiing that direction. You'll see a small structure that's about two stories off the pavement, which looks like a small control tower, near the cafe.

Stopped in today for lunch. The food and service was excellent. Located at the far NW corner of the airport, with plenty of tie downs in front of the cafe.

We had lunch at Rocket Shop Cafe today. What a great place. I love the NASCAR atmosphere and the food was great too. They have a great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. I had the Buffalo Chicken Strips. The buffalo sauce was awesome. Next I'll try a burger.

This was a great food stop in the middle of Sunday afternoon. I had a very tasty burger, and my breakfast-loving wife was very happy with her pancakes and eggs. The menu has something for just about every body.

I flew in with my wife and daughter for lunch. The restaurant is truly at the far NW end of the airport, but there was plenty of tie-down space near the restaurant entrance. We have become regular weekend travelers to small airport cafes we hear or read about from other pilots. Harmon's Rocket Shop Café has turned out to be one of the best. The hamburgers were some of the best we have tried and the service was cheerful and attentive. We will go back to this one.

Good stop! Taxi to the far NW corner of the airport. Good food and lots of it. The place holds about 200 people.

We just made another stop here will in the area and are happy to see the cafe still serving up tasty food! We hope they get enough business to keep it going (I think they will because they get a lot of non-airport customers as well).

Stopped in to try the Rocket Shop Cafe. The burgers and fries were outstanding along with the friendly service. The restaurant is modern and clean with a "fast" theme (Harmon Rockets and NASCAR). Note: It is at the extreme NE corner of the field and is not readily visible from the main taxiway. Just keep taxiing N and look for the two-story red-topped tower. There are tiedowns at the restaurant. Fuel is available about 3/4 miles S along the main taxiway. Fun place to eat. Well worth the trip!

I agree with all the other comments. Although we stopped here just for some snacks and beverages, the friendly staff treated us very well. The peach cobbler with ice cream was very good, and very refreshing! This is a very attractive, fresh, and new restaurant with a nice view of the flightline, as someone has already said. They have a full menu. There's a band setup in the back, but there were no signs (at least that I could see) of when the music's on. I was actually glad to see someone else comment that it gets very busy--they deserve to do well. As Ahhnold would say, if anyone's quoting him these days, "I'll be back..."

YUMMY!!!!! We flew in for a lunch stop with our dog and they were happy to let us sit on their patio. The food here is VERY good. I had a great bacon cheeseburger and Laura had the French Toast (even though it was 2:00pm). Their french fries have that tasty seasoning sprinkled on top. Even the french fry connoisseur Inger would agree! FYI - The cafe is located at the north end of the airport and the fuel/transient area is near the south end.

As a local pilot, and street bike rider, we frequent this shop on a regular occasion for fly ins, and for bike night. Service can get a little strained during the peak hours, but trust me, well worth the wait, great food!!

I work at Kern Charter, the FBO on the airport, and really enjoy having such a nice place to eat. Staff is friendly and there are windows everywhere so you can watch the planes depart. Try the Avocado, Bacon, Mushroom Burger...It Rocks!
