Extremely nice gentleman met us at the plane as we landed, got us a taxi, helped us with our bags, and was otherwise very helpful. Fuel prices from the self-serve tank are also very reasonable, and the location is very convenient to downtown Memphis. I will definitely come back here the next time I'm in that area.

Superb--landed on a day with nasty weather (heavy rain, gusting, ceiling just above minimums) and received exceptional service, including calls during the day to make sure everything was ok. Truly a first-rate experience, kudos for a wonderful experience.

Great little airport! They are still recovering from a flood earlier this year, but they have a nice temporary building for the FBO, and the avgas price is cheaper than anywhere I've seen. Thanks!

Dewitt Spain is open again. The runway, taxiways and ramp look good as new. Fuel is flowing again with new pump equipment and the same cheap prices. I bought 87 gals. This weekend and received great treatment from Mike during a brutal heat wave. Congrats and thanks to all for the hard work in getting this great field open again.

Airport currently closed... Response from Walter E. Cathey, Memphis Shelby County Airport Authority
DeWitt Spain is open for business. We would like to welcome all of our tenants and customers back to the Airport. On August 27th we plan to have a luncheon from 11am till 1pm to welcome everybody back to the airport. We also plan to discount fuel on the 27th and 28th during business hours.

DeWitt Spain is currently closed due to the flooding in May. We are currently working to reopen the airport and hope to have it open in early July. We are sorry for any inconvenience the closing has caused and look forward to getting our tenants and customers flying at DeWitt Spain again.

Stopped in Memphis to visit some friends in Memphis. Great little airport conveniently located outside of downtown Memphis. The staff helped fuel my airplane and even emailed me a copy of my receipt a few days later (since I forgot to pick it up). Excellent. Will stop in next time I visit Memphis.

This is an extremely well run County FBO. (I know hard to believe anything gov't can be well run). Walter and staff were extremely helpful. It is the kind of place where your aircraft gets staged in the pouring rain when you didn't even have to ask for it. The facility is nice and they have plans to make more improvements. We will be back. Customer service comes from the top down and these guys get it.

If you are within 100 miles of Memphis this is the place to stop. Walter & his crew are friendly, extremely- helpful, and make your experience stopping her a 10+. The airport is a short taxi ride from downtown Memphis with great food, hotels and entertainment. These guys make it all happen for you with a smile! You won't be disappointed.

What a nice airport. First-class full service with a smile and at a great fuel price! Even towed my airplane to a tiedown spot and tied it down for me while I greeted my friend. Wow. Please make 5000 copies of this airport and sprinkle them all over the country.

Great airport, why go anywhere else? People are very friendly, clean airport, close to downtown, fuel prices here are always the lowest in the area. Don't let the fact that this is a small airport fool you, they are big on taking care of their customers. We come here several times a year, always a pleasant experience.

Stopped in last Saturday. The service was exceptional. Asked for an unbalanced fuel order and it was executed perfectly. Fuel is very reasonable. Enterprise had the car waiting. Overall, it was the perfect visit! Memphis approach is also great to work with while transitioning Bravo airspace.

I found the staff here to be a bit dismissive when I stopped in. Was hard to tell who was working and who was just lounging around. Fuel is cheap, but based on service; KAWM will be getting my business in the future.

What a great place to stop and overnight! The service was great and fuel prices were very reasonable. The line guy even called us a cab as we taxied in from the runway. This is a great little airport. Very convenient to downtown Memphis.
