Someone did greet us and see if we needed help with SS fuel. They obviously do not spend any fuel revenue on taxiway maintenance. Taxi at a walk, it's uneven. Wish I'd gone to PBF, but WX made that unable.

Fuel is expensive at nearly $5/gal 100LL SS. The tower and buildings are historic and interesting to visit. Nicely equipped lounge but don't expect to use it after hours as it's locked up. "Full of expensive equipment" I was told. Like couches and a 21" tube TV?. No courtesy car because the manager says "we don't sell enough fuel to pay for insurance". (Pry because it's so expensive.) We asked for a jump as we had alternator problems but the manager left us standing there as he had a city council meeting to go too. There is a hangar for $20 overnight which we needed to recharge battery and keep airplane warm, but again, no one there to help at 5:00pm. Cab ride and hotel was $$$$ when everything was there. We arrived in the morning to a frosted over plane. What a mess.

On a trip from North Florida to Ada, OK, AirNav gave me M18 as a reasonably priced fuel stop, indicating $3.60 for SS 100LL. When I arrived, the fuel was $4.75/gal SS, less than 3 weeks from the prior posting. There were no attendants, the FBO was open and not air conditioned, restrooms were hot, but clean. Although there appeared to be a few people next door performing maintenance, no one asked if we needed assistance of any kind, nor made any attempt to greet us. This was a very different stop from what we are normally used to seeing in the South. The appearance is that Southeast Arkansas Aviation doesn't care if you come back. Rest assured, I will steer clear of Hope, Arkansas.
