The runway is repaved and looks great. Careful off of it though just the concrete pad at 25 approach end for run-up. Got to Runway Cafe at 12:30 Sunday and had a very pleasant breakfast: large portions, good food, and great service.

March 15, 2009. Woodlake remains a really fun little airport. The Outpost restaurant is now named the "Runway Cafe" and Sherry Forcum, the new owner and staff are great. The food is excellent, yet I recommend, that on Sunday, you arrive before 11:00 am. The runway/taxiways still remain as previously described, but there is a nice smooth concrete square near the departure end of Rwy 25 for run-up (no rocks). There are even outdoor picnic tables and shade trees if you desire to bring your own. Oh and Sherry says they are open 7 days a week 0600 to 1400. She said you could call her @559-564-3986

Stopped by for a tasty lunch on Sunday. They're open 7 am -- 2 pm on Sundays (not sure about the rest of the week). Lovely little cafe, huge portions, good fries. The runway surface is deteriorated and the taxiway is closed, but I've seen worse strips. Would not recommend high-power run-ups anywhere on the airport; you'll ding your prop.

Really good breakfast with home made biscuits and gravy and home made salsa for the omelets. The wait staff was wonderful. Fun little airport too.

Great steak and eggs, new decorations, sealed car parking lot, few chuckholes remain though. Yes its open. Clagman

Beware. The Outpost Restaurant has closed for renovation and last time I called, told me they had relocated off field.
