The omelets were a 10, new paved and marked runway was a big improvement in 32 years. West parking is best. Oh and fuel is $00.40 per gallon cheaper than home.

Flew in for brunch at the Runway Cafe. The runway is nice. Be careful on the taxiways if you value your prop. I taxied very slowly with minimum power so I wouldn't suck up rocks. On the ramp you sort of have to taxi around the bad spots. The food was excellent. I had the chili. It was fantastic! And the service was great too. I will be back. Oh and cheap fuel too!

Flew into Woodlake last Sunday for a breakfast ride. This was another one of the many breakfast spots that our group used to fly to in the past. All was still the same. Nice little place to stop. Friendly and good food. Landed 7...Departed 25. Will definitely keep this one on the list.

Hamburger steak and eggs are the best ever. Runway is best in 30 years since I've been there. LAND SHORT back taxi, Woodlake flyers understand this and are polite.

The runway is repaved and looks great. Careful off of it though just the concrete pad at 25 approach end for run-up. Got to Runway Cafe at 12:30 Sunday and had a very pleasant breakfast: large portions, good food, and great service.

March 15, 2009. Woodlake remains a really fun little airport. The Outpost restaurant is now named the "Runway Cafe" and Sherry Forcum, the new owner and staff are great. The food is excellent, yet I recommend, that on Sunday, you arrive before 11:00 am. The runway/taxiways still remain as previously described, but there is a nice smooth concrete square near the departure end of Rwy 25 for run-up (no rocks). There are even outdoor picnic tables and shade trees if you desire to bring your own. Oh and Sherry says they are open 7 days a week 0600 to 1400. She said you could call her @559-564-3986

Stopped by for a tasty lunch on Sunday. They're open 7 am -- 2 pm on Sundays (not sure about the rest of the week). Lovely little cafe, huge portions, good fries. The runway surface is deteriorated and the taxiway is closed, but I've seen worse strips. Would not recommend high-power run-ups anywhere on the airport; you'll ding your prop.
