I contacted the Bisbee Airport to confirm the availability of the two courtesy cars for a fly-in that our type club is having in November to Bisbee. Learned that effective this week the airport will NO LONGER have courtesy cars available for the use of fly-in guests. You can arrange for a van to pick you up and take you back by calling Sandy @ Sassy Transportation (520) 366-2149. She has a 12-passenger van and charges a flat $10 plus $2 per passenger per way to and from the airport. The fuel is now completely self serve, and the ramp has plenty of space. If you planned to use the courtesy car for a quick visit into town, it is still possible, but it will cost you a few bucks! Plan ahead!

Information update: The fuel at Bisbee is now FULL AUTOMATIC SELF SERVE with nice big numbers showing the price and fuel quantity pumped. No hassle fueling. As is said on the TV Program, "The Price is Right", Come On Down!

Getting gas here was a bit of a challenge, but Gaston made it all better. One call and presto, help arrived to unlock the pump and smooth the path. I learned that effective April 8th the pump will be automated, making this a definite stopover for day visits to the olde town of Bisbee. Take in the Queen Mine tour? I did! All greased by a City that wants our business and makes it easy providing not one, but two courtesy cars!! Go here and leave happy.

Great people. I visited with my Wife and she was amazed on how well we were treated. Owned by the City. Crew cars are always available even for overnight stay.

Bisbee is one of my favorite stops when I am down in Southern Arizona. The city has one of its employees man the fuel pumps (competitive prices) and they have two old police cruisers for use by fly in guests free of charge (just put a few gallons in the tank). Bisbee is a charming old mining town & the Shady Dell has become my "home away from home" when I need to step back in time. Great city....
