The gentleman at ERA was in the office before 0730 on a Sunday morning and got us fueled with no delay. Very friendly and helpful as he also checked weather and the cameras for us for our route and next destination. 100LL pump is on the side of the building; JET A pumps are out in front.

The operator was there when we stopped in unannounced and he helped us get a briefing, file a flight plan (a mistake, we had no way to cancel it) got us fueled and on our way.

The only fuel on the airport is sold by ERA. There is only one employee and he has to do everything including fly the helicopters for the company contracts. When we showed up he had just flown a 12-hour day in fires and smoke and asked if it would be OK if we got fuel the next day. Fortunately our plan was to camp. He was however "forced" to dispense jet A to two competing heli operations and at the end of a 12 hour shift I can understand why this might be irritating. Two other pilots got 'stuck' without fuel for a while until one of the locals happened to come along with some mo-gas and they were lucky enough to have a mogas STC for their airplane. They got just enough to get out. We probably had barely enough to make it to the next stop but not with any acceptable reserves. My advice: Plan ahead or plan to stay, camping that is.
