From Shawn Brenneman on 13-Jan-2012

I'm a recently minted private pilot and was looking for an opportunity to fly on a recent trip to the big island. My girlfriend and I arranged to do an island tour with Hawaii Flight Adventures, and it was easily our favorite part of the trip. Buster arranged a Cessna 182 (big iron for me!), and graciously let me take on as much of the piloting as I liked (he seemed surprised when I wanted to work the radios myself). He happily took the plane any time I wanted to get a better look at the amazing scenery, and he had the local knowledge to tell us about what we were looking at. Highly recommended.

What an unbelievable experience! We circled the big island with Buster in a very nice 172. He was informative and gracious throughout. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. The east rift eruption area was spectacular! And all of this for less money than a helicopter tour, plus we spent more time in the air and got to do the flying. Absolutely unbelievable!

Response from Buster Frysinger, President / CEO, Hawaii Flight Adventures, Inc.
Thank you for your kind words Mr. Kennedy. It was a pleasure flying with you and your Wife. That eruption area that you saw only lasted for a couple of days and then went back into the rift. Yesterday was the first day that lava has returned to the surface and is now back in the Puu Oo Vent again.
