We dodged some MASSIVE T storms in and out of here but it was well worth the stop. Didn't get a chance to see town but the airport is a great small plane stop.

Arrived at KSJN shortly after a plane crashed on takeoff, DA was 9200. The airport staff could not have been more friendly or helpful in what was a horribly stressful situation for them. Decided to RON and they helped with ground trans, food and lodging locations. KSJN is now on my list of places to stop. Before it was only a VOR turn for me. An airsick pax and precautionary fuel stop led to my landing there, what a gem it turned out to be. As the other poster noted watch the density altitude.

A word of caution regarding this airport, watch your density altitude! It often is above 9000 feet in the summer.

Great stop, cheapest gas around and a quick turn around. Have a nice selection of snacks in the FBO to purchase, which is good because there isn’t much else around.

$4.50 avgas. Wow. Friendly service, too. I'll keep this place in mind for future cross-country trips! Note: they close a 5, but the airport manager lives near the field and said he can usually take care of people after hours if they call ahead.

Easy in and out with new runway surface and a very well run FBO. Gary was at my plane almost before the engine was off. No self-service but with the lowest 100LL in AZ you just plan ahead. Very nice cross-country refueling stop.

With the cost of fuel all but shutting down GA, I am grateful for KSJN and their fuel prices. People would go there for that alone, but the service they provide is still top shelf. They are always courteous and helpful. Support them as much as you can, people.

Not much here, but the airport manager is a great guy, and the fuel is cheap. A good, quick fuel stop if you are on your way cross country.

For about a week, I had been planning for a fuel stop at SJN yesterday because of the decent fuel price. I have been there several times before with great experiences each time. Checked the NOTAM's right before departure only to see that Fuel is unavailable for the next several weeks. I would think that it would be great to know that but here is your sign for not checking the NOTAM...But they guarantee their fuel price...If you can get to it.

Stopped in to KSJN twice (BE35) at the end of July. Gary was out to pump fuel almost before we had the door open. Excellent fuel stop. Fuel is always cheaper than the posted AirNav price...What a great deal. What a great airport.

I cannot say enough good things about the great folks at St. John's. We stopped for fuel and ended up staying the night in St. Johns due to a long string of thunderstorms along western New Mexico. Patricia was amazing. She gave us information about St. Johns: where to stay, where to eat, where to get groceries, etc. She loaned us a car for the rest of the day, and only asked that we try to keep the tank close to full (very reasonable in my opinion). She always checked up on us in the lounge area to see if we needed anything. She even allowed my sister-in-law and wife to borrow her computer to submit work assignments they needed to have completed that day. We enjoyed the FBO area until it was apparent that we were not going to be able to fly out. The folks in town were very nice, too. I will definitely be stopping at St Johns in the future. This place is definitely worth the stop. Thanks again, Patricia!

As always, great service and prices. They were open on the holiday weekend, including Monday, 7/5/2010, which was great for me. This is a regular fuel stop for me on cross country trips.

We had hoped to get to Page AZ but weather did not cooperate. We are very glad we stopped here- the crew is very friendly & helpful- even willing to come in early if we needed to get in the air before 7am! Used the crew car to get to Days Inn. Motel is recently refurbished & our room was awesome. We enjoyed Iggy's and highly recommend it. Sleepy little town-Everyone is friendly!

Flew into SJN on 5/29/10. We were met with a big smile by Patricia, who didn't have to, but who filled my tanks. Now that's service. Took the airport car to Iggy's for breakfast. Iggy's has a quaint feel, with booths set up each with a different theme. The coffee was hot, and the omlettes generous in size. The owners, Karin and Darcy, took good care of us. Make sure and support Iggy's for breakfast!

Flew in to fuel up on May 8, 2010. Wonderful service along with reasonably priced $3.90 100LL. Thank goodness for the x-wind runway 21! Used it on 5/8 and again on 5/11 as the winds were gusting past 40 kts.

Gary is a great guy. He is very helpful and I made a mistake of not calling ahead because I didn't realize that the airport information on AirNav states the fuel service is full service and not self serve. Therefore, I recommend calling ahead before stopping if it is after hours. Although, Gary was still helpful and would definitely stop again and you can not beat the fuel price especially when it is full service and not self service.

On a x-c flight on November 1st, stopped at KSJN for fuel and lunch. Gary Platt was very helpful and great to talk with. He recommended a couple of lunch places within a short drive from the airport, and multiple crew cars were available. Excellent price on fuel as well! I highly recommend this airport on any x-c flights through this region. Will definitely stop back again!

I planned my October 2nd arrival at SJN to coincide with the 7AM opening time. Airport Manager Gary was running a little late that morning, and despite my phone call to him at his home, woke up on the right side of the bed and was in his usual great mood. Two important things...Even though I'm the one who wrote the entry below about cold weather in April, I showed up in shorts with sunrise temperature 31 degrees! (No wind, not TOO bad). And maybe more importantly, fuel price was twenty cents lower than posted on AirNav, or $3.45 per gallon.

I diverted here due to building thunderstorms on my way home from Oshkosh in July 2009. My usual gas stop is Winslow, but after several recent unpleasant experiences at Wiseman Aviation, I was thankful to the thunderstorms for bringing me to St. Johns! The FBO employee (didn't catch his name) was extraordinarily helpful. After gassing me up, he gave me a courtesy car and told me where the motels and eateries were. Can't complain about the price of avgas here, either.

Fueled here both ways on a round trip to San Diego. Fast turn, good runway and the low fuel prices. The temps are much cooler there (90) while it was 115 in Phoenix.

Flew in ten days ago in a C340 and found a nice little airport with very helpful staff. Fuel was much lower then what is posted on AirNav...I wanna say $2.35/gal 100LL. It was surprising to find cheaper prices for fuel in the middle of nowhere instead of Phoenix area, Flagstaff or even Prescott
