Every time we come here, we are treated like royalty. We recently flew some Young Eagles here and were NOT disappointed with the excellent service that Dick and the gang provided for everyone. As soon as the pilots landed, they were all over the airplanes fueling and getting them ready to fly some kids. If anyone is looking for an example of what an airport can do when everyone works together, come and visit...You will not be disappointed!!

I selected W22 when planning evacuation from Hurricane Irene from Delaware. It was located one large terrain feature from the projected storm path, and my initial call to the manager, Mr. Dick Bennett, sealed the deal. Very welcoming; plenty of tiedowns, maybe hangar space had I asked, full maintenance for my Cessna 182, Enterprise rental less than 2 miles to which he drove us there and back when we returned to pick up the plane. This was good old WV hospitality. He even called on the handheld from the ramp to say actual conditions favored the opposite runway that I had selected and announced based on the automated report of L/V. Ramp fee waived. Fuel at $5.50 as advertised. As ASN volunteer at N06, I will encourage coordinated evac here given similar circumstances.

Extremely nice folks. Good gas price - great pilots lounge - felt like I was walking into someone’s house - chili in a crock pot - coffee, munchies, computer room, basically a doublewide house for the pilots. Nice flying in -nice town. Will come back whenever in the area. Thanks guys!

These guys are the best! We landed (in a Twin Commander) in heavy rain for a quick turn, and they were all over the aircraft as soon as we stopped. Friendly, nice facility, great fuel prices: what more can you ask! We will be back.

I plan a stop a W22 every time I head north. Just what I'm looking for. Good price on 100LL, courtesy car to get to town for lunch, quick service, friendly people. I doesn't get any better.

This is my home base...So my comments may appear to be biased. Anyone who has stopped here will agree with me though. If you come to W22, you will get the best service ever from an airport this size. Dick Bennett is the guy to thank. He is a tireless supporter of General Aviation. Give him a thank you when you stop by for some of the cheapest gas around.

Good stop! An airport with the pilot in mind. Friendly folks. Well stocked FBO. Close to town with courtesy car available. Cheapest fuel in the area at the time we were there.

Stopped for fuel on 11/1/09 on my way from New York to Tennessee. The fuel truck was headed towards me before I shut down. The price, $3.85, was dirt cheap by this New Yorker's standards. Pretty place on top of a bluff and a well stocked fridge and kitchen with snacks and drinks on the honor system. A good stop that deserves our business.

This one of the greatest airports ever! We were stranded there for two days with bad weather. Went there in my Cherokee and was treated as if I were flying a Learjet. The fuel was very reasonable and was given a van to use, as we wanted. We were asked no less than 15 times if there were anything else they could do for us. Upsure County will be a stop for my wife and me any time we are in that area.

Stopped here again July 24th on the way back to AKR. Really like this place, friendly folks, $3.50 gallon for avgas (very good). Few are better and as reasonable with avgas.

From Todd Fuller on 04-Jul-2009

My kind of place to stop. Stopped here on the return to Monroe (EQY) from Akron-Fulton (AKR) to get fuel. No ramp fees, friendly folks, and competitive avgas price. Wish other airports were like this.

Response from Christine McGuire, Upshur Regional Airport Authority
We would like to take a minute and thank each of these pilots for stopping in and letting us do, what we do best.... SERVE YOU! We hope to see each of you again on your next pass through Buckhannon! Don't forget - "Easy In and Easy Out.... that is what we're all about!"
