June 1-4 Flew down to Hummel Field from MMU in C-177 (Cardinal). Runway in excellent condition. Fuel: great price. Rick and Jim, very friendly and helpful. Definitely will stop there again.

My dad and I landed here for a flyin breakfast. On the way out my starter went bad. We could hand prop it because the bendix was stuck out. The gentleman (forget his name... Big guy) who gives rides in his blue WW2 bird was very nice and let me keep my plane there. He even offered to hand prop it for us until he saw the starter was still engaged. Nice people and great breakfast. We will be back soon.

Flew in today for the oyster festival. Got some fuel and help pushing the plane back to the grass parking area from the several CAP-type folks who were on the field. S/S and F/S seemed to be the same price, but the fellow with the fuel was out to lunch so we self-served. Was charged $5 to park. There did seem to be a number of ropes available in the grass, which was especially helpful on the blustery day we flew in. Water is very nearby and there is a good deal of great seafood in the area, however nothing that I noticed within easy walking distance.

I have visited Hummel on numerous occasions. My main reason for visiting is to enjoy the buffet breakfast at the Pilot House Restaurant. It is ALWAYS good. I have never had a problem parking. I have never paid or known of a landing fee. This is the whole idea of aviation: convenient destinations and services! Thanks for being there.
