Karen and Jack at Bedford Landings B&B are right on the field. Highly recommended for a convenient, relaxing stay. Where else in the area can you fly in, park and walk to the B&B across the taxiway.

Visited September 2017. The Bedford Landings Bed and Breakfast at the airport is top notch. Great fly in destination for peace and quiet.

Visited the middle of August 2017. Beautiful lake, deep and calm. Our visit started with our landing at SML airport. Toughest task is to find the airport in the trees, but it's worth it! My buddy and I landed and waited for our wives to pick us up as they had opened our rental house ahead of time. Airport owner Mo provided a beer and good conversation with tips about the area while we waited. Low-cost fuel, runway in good shape, all we could ask -- personal aviation at its best! (Thanks, Mo!)

Flew a Baron into W91 for a three day stay. Mike at W91 could not be more accommodating. It's a great airport with very fair fuel pricing - self service. Although, Mike was just great in helping me move plane to pumps so I didn't have to start engines. He even called a Baron driver to bring is motorized tow bar to help. It doesn't get any more friendly than that. It's a hard airport to find as it's in the woods but take your time, pay particular attention to speeds etc, and you'll be glad you stopped at Smith Mountain.

Been flying into Smith Mountain Lake for 6 years. Fantastic airfield and terrific services from Mike. Best fuel prices around and your plane is in great hands!
