This is a great little airport with scenery and an FBO that just won't quite. I can't say enough about Larry (who runs the FBO) and all of the people my wife and I met while here in Petersburg. Just about the friendliest people you will meet anywhere. We will be back. Thanks again to everyone we met. The scenery is astounding.

Made an unscheduled stop at W99 on our way from Baltimore to Oshkosh due to weather. Had to spend the night and part of the next day before being able to continue. Got excellent support from Larry Stahl and his wife in finding food and accommodation. We spent quite some time at the FBO, just enjoying the atmosphere and the company.

Made an unexpected weather stop here and now look forward to going back. Larry was VERY helpful in finding us overnight accommodations (not easy since we had our dog with us) and couldn't have been more helpful on filling us in on the local area and scenic rides to take. Good fuel prices an immaculate FBO and friendly folks. You can't beat that. Rental cars are available too. Thank you, Larry! We stayed at Heaven's Landing B&B (which has it's own immaculate 2000 ft grass strip) and were treated like royalty there too. Thank you Mitch!

Landed at W99 due to wx (a little snow) 12-18-09. Larry, Joan and the rest of the gang that help me out. I would like to thank them again for all the help, I will stop back there again. Good service can't be beat, fuel prices are cheap, and if you need something they will help you out.

Great people and a nice airport. Self serve fuel is unreliable. Always some kind of issue with it every time I stop. Call ahead when needing fuel.

Stopped in for Fuel on Saturday and Sunday October 3-4, 2009, while vacationing in the mountains at WV62, Windwood. Nice airport and great fuel price. Self-serve, but had a nice ladder for me to fuel my Cessna. Easy in and out approaches for either runway.

Diverted to W99 in my Tripacer on my way from DC area to LaCrosse WI. Got weathered in and what a wonderful place to stop! Brian, Tom and Craig were great! Helped me find a hotel and gave me a ride both ways. Great Facility and good fuel prices. I would consider going out of my way to stop there again. They exemplify the best of our aviation community.

Had an electical problem while travelling west. Landed at W99 and met Larry and Matt. Problem was a shot voltage regulator. Matt flew to the parts supplier up north and then helped me and Larry until late that evening putting in. Larry's wife Joan cooked us dinner and then Larry ran me to a local hotel. Service was first-rate. If you're going to break down try and do it around Petersburg, WV. Thanks guys for getting me up and running. You were terrific!

Fuel price was reasonable, self-service. There weather service was down but I was able to use the WIFI with my laptop to look at weather. Would stop in again.
