This is what you should know about Lanmar. On August 9, 2011, while my plane was at Lanmar for avionics work, Lanmar's fuel truck backed into my plane. Since that time, I have sent Lanmar and Richard Polidori, the owner, the repair bills, which Lanmar's own insurance agent has advised are reasonable. Lanmar continues to refuse to pay even the repair bills. The owner of Lanmar, Richard Polidori, refuses to discuss why he isn't causing Lanmar to pay the repair bill. There is a very objective story you can review about the accident at the New London Day.

Still doing a great job. Flew back in with my Baron to go to a show and play some cards at MGM for the night. Super service, heated hangar, rental car 20 feet away, and great staff. It reminds me of the old days in GA. When people really cared about the flying customer. Thanks Lanmar, super job.

If you ever fly to Groton/New London Airport, Lanmar Aviation is the place to park your plane! We flew to KGON for a midday family function. The staff at Lanmar was courteous, professional and provided us with a crew car. Great people (thanks Wayne, Meredith, Robert and the ground staff)...Great services and a wonderful facility.

Flew in on July 14th for a long weekend with my daughter. The service as always was great. Was greeted by name each time I stopped in to take scenic flights with her friends, and on Monday they called me about some storms coming in that afternoon and offered to put the plane in a hangar. When I departed the next morning they had waived the hangar and parking fees for the fuel I had bought. There may be another facility on the field, but Lanmar is really the only place to go in Groton.

Dan at LANMAR saved my night! Flew into GON from Fishers Island low on oil and fuel on a recent Sunday night. Called just before departing 0B8 and Dan said he'd stay late and wait for me to arrive. True to his word, he was there to fuel my airplane and have a couple of quarts of oil ready, not to mention use of the crew car to grab a quick bite. I highly recommend LANMAR and have already patronized them since.

I've flown my Mooney into GON for many years, and always utilize Lanmar's fuel, ramp/hangar space, and services. Bad on me for not getting around to writing a review until now, but better late than never. . . In short, what I'd like to say is that all facets of this operation are consistently spectacular! I'd start naming names of the employees who have made positive impressions, but I'd have to name everyone! Looking forward to my next visit. . .

Unbelievably happy with my experience at Lanmar. They were waiting outside for us on landing and had a cab waiting for us as we had requested. Since they were going to be closed at our planned departure time, the manager suggested I move the aircraft to GA parking (free). Due to snow, ended up postponing our departure until the following morning and called ahead to ask if they could brush off the aircraft. Arrived only to find that they had towed the aircraft (a Piper Warrior) inside the hangar to thaw out and wiped it down. It was ready to go. The manager wouldn't take any extra money from me even though they hadn't charged me a ramp fee and I had only purchased about six gallons of fuel. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating...Will definitely return.

I have been coming to KGON for years, this is a first class FBO. These professionals like Robert at the desk and Carl at Line Service just to name a few, always make us feel special. Nice and Modern facility, rental cars, local attraction suggestions and good price on fuel, all with a smile. If they have a restaurant and rooms for overnight, they could have been a four star hotel. I highly suggest using this FBO.

From 8/30/10 through 9/1/10 Lanmar hosted EAA's B17 on its annual tour. Bob Taylor and I as project managers and on behalf of EAA, EAA Chapters 334 (Groton) and 166 (Hartford) would like to thank Lanmar and Jessie Edwards for support above and beyond the call of duty. The event was an outstanding success. Jessie worked with us for months planning the event and was a major reason we were so successful. EAA management and the flight crew were extremely complimentary about their visit "second to none". All Lanmar staff assigned to the event did an outstanding job and it was hot on the line during the static display. We had ten WWII B17 crewmembers attend the event and all were elated with their visits. Again Jessie, thank you for all of your hard work, hospitality and support, which played a major role in the success of the event. We hope to visit again next year.

Had to divert to KGON due to weather. Parked over by Lanmar for overnight and received excellent help! Wendy & Bill were excellent and very accommodating. We were treated like we were family. I would recommend Lanmar to anyone needing the services they provide and if ever diverted again, will land at GON with the knowledge that we will be taken care of with no hint of animosity what so ever.

Four aircraft and eight people from KFIT flew in 6/18/10 for a visit to Mystic. James met us on the ramp for parking, provided us with the (reserved) courtesy van, directions to the restaurant and answers to few other questions from our group. We dropped off the van when we returned and our planes were refueled. Very friendly, courteous and appreciated service!

Went in today to have a faulty S-Tec autopilot looked at as well as an oil change for a Cirrus SR22 G3. Found service to be efficient, friendly and thorough. Jim Flores diagnosed the issue fairly quickly and showed me exactly what was causing the auto to not communicate with the PFD. I think guy that runs it is named Jack who is easily recognizable from his Boston accent. He was helpful as well. Would recommend these guys especially if you're a newbie Cirrus pilot like myself.

I had an avionics issue that some of my friends said could be resolved by calling Jack Shields of Lanmar Aviation in Groton. After numerous phone calls explaining what was happening to my Autopilot. Jack came up with a plan. I took the airplane there so he can see and test what I was telling him which he did. He suggested that I take the unit back to my original installer and have him do some specific tweaking, which he thinks will correct the problem. He did not charge for his time and advice even though he clearly was entitled to it. That is the reputation he has. But he also does quality and fairly priced work according to the pilots who have used him.

My wife and I fly into GON frequently on day trips and I can say without reservation that the staff at Lanmar is the most professional and the most outstanding of all the FBO's we've ever visited in our flying experiences in the Northeast corridor. Robert and Wayne have been particularly helpful with all of our needs and their professionalism is second to none. The line service personnel have gone out of their way on several occasions to accommodate all of our needs......special kudos to Carl. Even the GON Tower makes us feel welcome when we visit....especially one controller whose name is unknown. He is very down to earth in his style and his anticipation of our intentions...both upon arrival and departure. We will always return to GON and Lanmar Aviation... Thanks for all your hospitality.

Lanmar Aviation did a great job while visiting overnight with my Baron.Parking was fast, safe and when I called to ask if they could leave the aircraft in a spot that it would not be towed, compliance was no issue. After meeting with line service, I believe they could have towed my aircraft around the field and it would have been in safe hands.A good thought for those of us who are crazy about the care of our aircraft. Front desk staff very helpful and also knows there business. In a world with few caring and someone throwing a wheel chock at you(if your lucky)this FBO was a breath of fresh air. Flew in this weekend to GON and decided to try Lanmar based upon all the AirNav comments. THEY WERE RIGHT! Fabulous customer service. Robert did a great job at coordinating the car to Mohegan Sun on arrival, as well as being super cheerful and nice. The plane was fueled and on line at the correct time, and we were greeted by name. We were delayed for 4 hours by WX, and Darryl was helpful to us, as well as Robert. They provided crew car, helpful suggestions and general hospitality the entire time, asking often if there was anything else they could do. HIGHLY recommend this as an FBO.

Prior to arrival at GON, I had sent a couple of emails to Lanmar Aviation inquiring about fees and the cost of a wash and wax for my C172. Each email was promptly and thoroughly responded to by the proprietor Mr. James Edwards. I arrived at Lanmar Aviation and was promptly met by a very helpful lineman. I paid $100.00 for the wash and wax, which included two nights in a hangar. The service was excellent. I recommend this FBO and certainly would use their services again.
