Cape Lisburne

Cape Lisburne Long Range Radar Station (LRRS) is an U.S. Air Force Long Range Radar Station (LRRS) located in northwestern Alaska between the Arctic Ocean and Chuckchi Sea. The radar station is within the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, located 570 miles northwest of Fairbanks. Point Hope is the nearest community, 25 miles to the southwest. The site is accessible only by sea or air. Cape Lisburne is an arctic environment with a short field season (approximately 3 months).
