Muncie Airport “Special Solar Eclipse” Information:
All VFR arrivals MUST contact the tower at least 10NM from the airport. IFR arrivals will NOT receive priority, but will be sequenced with previously arriving VFR traffic. IFR arrivals will be instructed to enter an UPWIND or DOWNWIND leg for their assigned runway. There will be NO BASE LEG ENTRIES or STRAIGHT-IN APPROACHES authorized.
VFR ARRIVALS Provide:
FULL Call Sign, A/C Type, A/C Color, and Current Position.
Expect Runway assignment and weather information after initial contact.
Arrivals from the South, Southwest, Southeast, and East:
Plan to proceed to the Prairie Creek Reservoir 10NM southeast of the airport. Expect to hold over the reservoir until advised to proceed inbound.
Arrivals from the North and Northeast:
Plan to proceed to south of Hartford City, IN 10NM north of the airport. Expect to hold south of Hartford City until advised to proceed inbound.
Arrivals from the West and Northwest:
Plan to proceed to Alexandria, IN 10 NM west of the airport.
Expect to hold over Alexandria until advised to proceed inbound.
All air traffic MUST remain outside of CLASS DELTA airspace until advised to proceed inbound.
There will NO PRACTICE APPROACHES or PATTERN TRAINING permitted.
YOU MUST LISTEN, PAY ATTENTION and BE SAFE. THIS MEANS EVERYONE!!
