Perry-Foley Airport (FAA Identifier 40J) has a great deal of growth underway. The new terminal opened in August 2006. The facility is a Category 5 hurricane ready and serves as the County’s alternate Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Several projects have been completed of the past few years with funding assistance provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The projects include:
  1. Construction of new T-hangars
  2. Rehabilitation of runway 18/36 the airport’s primary runway
  3.  Purchase of a JET-A fuel system
  4. Installation of a new security gates
  5. Removal of trees obstructing runway approach area
Current projects underway at the airport include updating the Airport Master Plan and ALP and the design, engineering, and construction of a corporate hangar facility. Perry-Foley Airport has three runways with the longest being 5,013 feet (Runway 18/36). The airport sells self-service 100LL and JET A fuels. The terminal restroom, vending area, and lobby are open 24 hours a day for pilot convenience. The terminal is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. The AWOS system at the airport provides pilots real-time, accurate weather and wind conditions. The airport has a free courtesy car available. Driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. The car is available for “in-town” short-term use.
