After making ramp reservations in three other states, an OVC forecast forced us north to Jackman for the 2024 Solar Eclipse. Heidi, the Town Clerk, patiently explained that they were FCFS at Newton Field and would fit in every aircraft they can. Landed fairly early that morning and scored what appeared to be the last of a dozen slots on their ramp. Hardly! By T-30min, they had wedged in +38 more--really impressive! Too jammed to take fuel at departure, so I sent the town a contribution instead. Walked to town and bought a fine lunch and the Smoking' Barrels at least.
