Flew in for visit with 3 GA airplanes from FL. Parked on SW side of field near the old hangars in the grass away from FBO. SS pump OOS but fuel truck provided without a problem to our location. Nice field with beautiful location & great service. Spent night at Hampton, Uber not around so plan ahead for RON. There is an airport car available.

Have always enjoyed stopping in for fuel. People are very friendly and helpful. Nearly stuck there one recent late Sunday afternoon / early evening as aircraft would not start after fueling. One of the local gentleman (Hollis Babb) was kind enough to let us hook up a jumper cable to his SUV to help keep battery charged while attempting numerous starts, for well over an hour. He called a local maintenance shop (Spivey Air) to help. The owner, Darwyn Spivey, was there shortly. He ended up prop starting the airplane (210+ hp), and we were on our way. Neither man would accept any reimbursement for their time and trouble. Forever grateful for their hospitality.

Great spot for a fuel and lunch stop. Beautiful scenery, friendly folks, and very reasonably priced. Took the very nice crew car into town for some lunch, and grabbed fuel. As a small improvement, I wish there were a way to do larger authorizations on the 100LL pump, but this would only be relevant in larger airplanes, like my 414.

5/27/2021; Great airport. Good fuel prices $3.95 for 100LL.

Great airport with inexpensive 100LL. Airport is right on a lake and the approach is scenic. One of my favorite XC destinations for a quick trip simply for the view and 100LL.
