ZERO STARS. I called the FBO trying to secure a crew car so I could get to the hotel. The new guy hired at FBO told me that I could get the crew car as it was offered on a "first come, first serve" basis. Then I called back two mins later and was told that I couldn't get the crew car because it wasn't available, but the hotels did offer shuttles. YOUR PEOPLE working at the FBO should know that the hotels don't offer shuttles. I am 20-year military aviator, and the US Military doesn't own Blythe Airport. I was told that "I can't walk around here". If it was that important, the military would have 24/7 security and proper signage. The taxpayers of Riverside County own the airport, and it chaps my a$$ when some dim-of-wit airport manager allows the military to take over a general aviation airport. Very poor business structure for running an airport that is owned by the County of Riverside. Good luck selling your gas at $7.73 & the fees per gallon.

Dropped by today to see what was happening with the new FBO and area. Was walking along the large hangar and got yelled at to stay away. The old FBO office is gone replaced by trailers. Will still drop by to visit old WWII sites.Response from Simon Powell, Manager/Director, Patton Aviation LLC Dear Mr. Wheeler, Many thanks for your comments after visiting KBLH The staff at the airport strive to provide the best expertise possible, your comments will help us get better. To respond to your comments The "trailers" are brand new custom build office units constructed from shipping containers - the previous office was, after many years of use found to be fully loaded with harmful asbestos - the quickest solution to protect our clients was to go with professionally built container offices - I hope you agree they are rather nice - free coffee, free high speed Wi-Fi and a pilot planning room as well as comfy chairs. With the regards to the hangar - the airport, while still owned by the County of Riverside has over the years predominantly become a support hub for the Military, as such the hangar is used for Military purposes and off limits - it is posted to stay out - just like any other hangar on any other airport - liability and insurance forbid non-employees for entering.
