The fuel pump had three problems: 1) the retractor on the hose was always in retract mode. There was no way to stop it from retracting other than having a helper stand on the hose. 2) the trigger on the handle was very stiff and the flow rate was somewhat slow. So, you have to hold the trigger for a long time. Long enough that while filling one tank your hand gets so tired you have to take a break. 3) the grounding cable was broken. The clamp on the end of the cable had disconnected. I was able to clamp the cable to my exhaust using clamp but that is a kluge that should not be. However, even so, we were able to pump our tanks full with a bit of trouble and the price was right. The lobby was nothing special, but it was well marked. Bathroom was clean. There were two couches that you could lay down on and take a snooze if needed. Also, a table with chairs to do flight planning. WIFI and cell signals were strong. There is a refrigerator with drinks and snacks.

We stopped for fuel at KDTA as we often do, with the prices here generally $1 less than our home airport of KPVU. However, last night (June 5 2024), the pump was inop. I would normally give a poor rating for something like this, but since this is the first comment on KDTA, I'd hate to have it look like they have an overall poor rating. I'm usually VERY happy with this airport. And the pilot's lounge is excellent. The fridge is well stocked with soda and candy. And corn dogs that you can microwave. We always leave a nice donation for the local flying club that provides the snacks.
