5/27/2021 Update: They now have pay at the pump. Hooray. Same great facilities gas prices not too bad ($4.49 for 100LL) tie down fees for $10 a night.

Dropped my wife and mother-in-law at KAVL a few days earlier and decided to try a different pickup location after receiving the Signature experience. When I arrived, the airport manager fueled my airplane and handed me the rental car keys. I drove to the plane, unloaded and was on my way. Leaving the next day was even easier. Great stop, very fair fuel prices, and good service. Highly recommend.

What a great little FBO! We dropped in as a thunderstorm passed and were delighted. They rolled my plane into a hangar and did everything they could to get us going again. Food (part time) on the field, crew car, a "crew" facility, lists of local drivers/cabs and hotels taped to the FBO door. A covered porch with rocking chairs! In all, this operation KNOWS the issues faced by pilots flying cross-country and has done everything to make it all work. Awesome!

This airport offers great mechanical service by Plane Werks. I flew up from Florida in a P210 and the flaps quit working. Russell Hyde figured out the problem in 4 minutes flat. He ordered a replacement motor and had me flying the next day. I was previously based near here and Russell did all of my maintenance, never unhappy with his work.

12/24/2018: Landed to drop off family and fly off to next stop. Got surprised by the airport only having full service and was not attended on Christmas Eve (note: pay attention to those airport that don't have self service). Took off with minimum fuel to next stop (won't do that again).

Response from Devon Raisch, Rutherford County Airport
We now have Self Service AVGAS and JET A available. Thanks for you consideration and business!

Have stopped here several times this year. Runway in excellent condition, staff extremely friendly and efficient. Small restaurant on field is closed Monday but usually open for lunch only. Fuel is full serve and priced reasonably.

I am surprised that I am the first comment on this page for KFQD. Runway and apron are in great shape, staff is very accommodating, fuel prices are fair and the courtesy car has killer air conditioning. I missed eating at 57 Alpha Cafe but I hope to remedy that the next trip in.
