I dropped my friend off at Hartford Jet Center. Went in to pay the over priced $40 facility fee and was told that they would also impose a $20 landing fee. I explained that I was not a corporate or revenue producing flight and yet they charged my card for the additional $20. I will be contesting the entire fee with my credit card. This behavior is complete nonsense.

This FBO is a total rip off - avoid staying there under any circumstances !!!!

Outrageous fees and awful service. I'm happy to pay for things but they really gouged me and didn't give me anything to show for it. Its $40 just to walk in the door from a deserted ramp—not even a marshaler or a pair of chocks. Then I was told its $150/hour for access to the ramp after 9PM. When I suggested I could get an escort from a friend with a ramp pass, they said they couldn't "allow that." Do they think they're the airport authority? Hadn't planned on staying overnight but since they didn't give me a choice, I had to, which cost $100. I told them to leave the aircraft on the ramp; when I returned the next morning, they towed the airplane out of a hangar WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON. So in the end I got charged $140 just to have my airplane held for ransom by inattentive staff that don't follow directions and may have damaged the brakes. This is just the latest in a string of bad experiences here, so I've filed a complaint with AOPA.

I used to frequent this place and there was never a landing fee, facilities fee, etc. Reading what is charged here, I will NEVER land here. Too bad... No wonder no one learns to fly anymore.

Friendly line person, I bought enough fuel for a piston single to not be nicked for the facility fee, ate at the restaurant so no ramp fee. NOTE: FLYING MONKEY CLOSES HERE IN NOV. 2019.... They’re moving off-airport. No idea what's coming to replace it, if anything.
