On a photo mission of the area from Cincinnati and stopped and bought fuel. Was fueled quickly and on my way without delay. The line team took great care of me.

Went there today to see if there really was an on-field restaurant. There is. The Fusion Restaurant is run by owner Ron Thomas, also a pit master, he offers BBQ, ribs, brisket, pork, and chicken. Access is through the FBO. They are open Tuesday through Sunday, 12 to 10 PM. The FBO staff gave me a ride to and from the plane without me buying gas or anything else. A good stop for a $100 BBQ.

KLOZ was a fuel stop on a flight originating in Florida, where I was delivering a Searey amphibian to its new owner in Michigan. After refueling, I discovered a broken exhaust spring on the Rotax engine. I had no spares. I spoke with John in the FBO (on a Saturday) and he put me in touch with a local A&P (Pete Ayers) who came out and started making a temporary repair to let me continue my journey. While he was working, another local figure (Tom E.) stopped by, learned of my problem, and PRODUCED A ROTAX EXHAUST SPRING FROM HIS TRUCK!!! We were BOTH dumbfounded!!! Pete Installed the spring and I was on my way with a total loss of one hour to my schedule. I phoned the new owner to tell him what had transpired . . . He went out and bought some Lottery Tickets!! Great job everyone!!

I stopped here on 9/5, a holiday weekend. The service was great, the facilities excellent, and the folks friendly. This is a very nice airport.

Picked up a couple of AngelFlight patients yesterday at KLOZ. After asking if I needed service on the Unicom just after I touched down, the fuel truck met me at the airplane BEFORE another lineman marshalled me in. How's THAT for service. AND on top of that, gave me their "local" fuel price for the AngelFlight. The CSR inside couldn't have been nicer.. Supplying water bottles for my patients and me. A terrific experience at KLOZ. One thing that was a little confusing. There is a tremendous military presence at this airport. What looked like the FBO on one side of the single runway turned out to be the military hangers. Turn right off Rwy 6 for the FBO.
