Flew in on 7/7/25 and needed fuel in a large twin. Figured I would get full serve fuel. Guy behind counter stated fuel truck was broken. I asked about a NOTAM as I did not see one, and he said, "it just happened." I then asked if he could help pull the plane over to self-serve for me and he replied, "for $45." I politely declined and pulled my plane to the self-serve pumps by hand with the help of a couple of other pilots (large engine piston aircraft are very hard to start immediately after shutdown.) Not the line guy's fault but extremely POOR customer service for something that would have taken less than 2 minutes of time.

While fueling my plane at the self-serve, the handle control required excessive force (two hands) to begin pumping. When my tank was full, I released the handle, but the gas hose has so much fuel pressure it blew about a gallon on me and on the wing and the ground. Totally unsafe. This is a great airport with an excellent staff. I'm sure they will fix this soon. Thanks

We're repeat visitors for fuel and the on-field restaurant. Today we borrowed the "courtesy van" (a spectacularly huge full-size van) and drove into town for the first time. It's kind of an interesting downtown with some sculptures and murals. We also drove to a park by the lake, which is interesting (surrounded by a tall dike).

Excellent self-serve fuel prices plus there is a very popular restaurant right at the FBO. We had lunch there on the way to the Bahamas and thoroughly enjoyed the meal along with reasonable prices.

Change 2 - The airport restaurant is still the cheapest in town, but get there early if you are expecting a quick fuel & eat stop. The coffee that I had in the restaurant this time was the worst of any airport facility.
