My one stop there says things have improved immensely, but then. . . I only stopped for gas.

Airport in great condition? When I was there, there were taxiway signs that were overtaken by weeds, and a new terminal under construction that is a complete mess. The once publicly available picnic shelter that was used for aircraft viewing has been completely taken over by the same construction, mainly for the living quarters for the construction crew. There hasn't been any runway lights since the airport was built, though after about 40 years that is finally taking place. Overdone security? Evidently they must have finally added a padlock to the gate near the office/trailer? Construction crews living in camping trailers ON the airport with ramp access?

Be extra vigilant when operating here. The current airport manager evidently believes that he is an FAA operations inspector and has reportedly called the FAA to report on anything that he considers is a violation. The fuel is self-service only and the printout for receipts is sporadic.
