I've eaten there multiple times. It's got great food, a good menu, an awesome view overlooking the field and it's always fun seeing the kids cheer you on from their tables as you get ready to start your plane and head home.

Last July (2010) I flew from Charlotte in my Cessna R182 to a friend in Valparaiso, IN. Then, that evening we flew to Schaumberg to eat at Pilot Pete's, and returned back to KVPZ after we ate where I stayed for a few days. We loved the trip to 06C! Everything, the flight, the airport and the restaurant. The flight in around class C airspace of O’Hare is not bad, and with a little studying of the sectional before the flight, and with a good GPS during the flight, is quite easy. We did both to and from after dark. My friend enjoyed the experience so much that he started flight training in January and got his PPL in May. The food at Pilot Pete's that we had was good. We sat at the windows literally overlooking the ramp and the airplane.

We don't need a fuel stop on the way home from Airventure, but we do need a FOOD stop. Pilot Pete's is certainly one of the best! The approach to 06C can be a little fun (you are about 5 miles from ORD) but if you study the sectional a little bit, you can do it! You will be rewarded with a beautiful facility full of 1930's - 1960's flying memorabilia, and excellent food! The prices are reasonable too!

Stopped in at Pilot Pete's yesterday (06/23/2009). Had the $100 hamburger. As in the other comments, it was a great burger. Aviation theme of the restaurant is great too. The waiter noticed me checking my watch and asked if I was under a time constraint. I was, so he made sure I was served quickly. I also didn't have to wait for the check. Great service!

Friendly, good service and great food. There are many items on the menu you won't find very easily or at all elsewhere. The aviation theme of the restaurant is great! Easy access, right on the ramp! Will be back again and again.
