Great hotel and great people. Had a chance to talk with the owner and got the history of Shelter Cove. Be careful of fog as it rolls in and out quickly.Response from Michael Caldwell, Inn of the Lost Coast Inn of the Lost Coast now has live web cams for real time weather check, see our web site or visit "northcoast aviation.com"...Our Flyers Courtesy Van is available for pick ups or yours to take to dinner..."Come Coast Awhile"

First visit to Shelter Cove on July 4, but it definitely won't be the last! Justin was very accommodating with a same day reservation. Park at the North end and it's an easy walk to the Inn (though he tried to pick us up twice ... Our fault for a late departure). Limited cell service in area, but very peaceful. Bring a good book and comfortable shoes for exploring. Hotel room was clean & spacious with small fridge & microwave. Year round discount for AOPA members. Chart Room restaurant was closed (Sunday), but Cove Restaurant at South end was nice. Great place to get away and just slow down for a while. Can't wait to go back!

I've been there several times. Nice place to get away from too much civilization. Great views of waves crashing on the rocks close up. Nice accommodations, courtesy van. Tie down at 12 end of field and walk across the road to Inn. Chart Room is the best restaurant (open Thu-Sun). Great beaches for long walks & forest trails nearby. Charter fishing boat & golf also available.

Staff was nice, rooms decent but not amazing. Paid $170 for a corner room that we could see the airplane at the airport (about 100 yards from the hotel) and had an amazing view of the ocean. Like the previous posts not much to do but walk, explore the tide pools, and soak in the ocean breezes. We decided to try the pizza in the Inn here, and were not disappointed. The owner is great and does a great job with the pizza as well. If he were open during the day it would be a great place to fly in for a $200 pizza. In any case this is just a great place to fly into and stay and relax.
