Flew in today and was greeted by the whole Skypark crowd who had just completed their monthly Young Eagles Day. Andy, Ron, Anna and the rest of them could not have made us more welcome. Anna drove us into town and gave us the royal tour of all the wineries on the way. This is not a difficult strip to fly into and was plenty long enough for my Bonanza. We did hear one pilot go around but it was a bit of a gusty crosswind. Make sure you have a cell phone to call a cab if the group is not there. It is about 3 miles out of town with a $12 taxi fare. Lunch at The Girl and the Fig in town was excellent. We will be back.

Fuel is now $4.06/gallon for 100LL. The office's air conditioning was a nice respite from the 100-degree heat on 6/28/09. Be warned; there are trees at both ends of the runway. On hot days with a heavy load, you'll want to ensure your short-field takeoff procedures are up to snuff.
