I returned to flying late in 2007. I have worked during the past several months with a great instructor at Skypark. This is a fun place where everyone makes you feel welcome. I'm renting single Cessna for about the same rates as when I learned to fly in 1986.

Very friendly little airport. I was lured in by the report on 100LL.Com that fuel was $3.92. Turns out the price for transients were $4.75. This airport has a very short, narrow runway and the tightest ramp I have ever seen in North America, but it runs an extremely active flight school, and on a Sunday morning the place was hopping. Would that all airports were so vibrant! Not a suitable stop for transients however.

Weltzien is a friendly enough place, but a very small airport with a lot of low time and student pilots. Transients are better served at 3G3.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They moved an airplane around to accommodate my long wingspan for an overnight tie down. They have an active flight school and maintenance facility. I'll be back!
