Great little airport, had breakfast at Morning Thunder, easy 10 minute walk to town. Great easy stop.

Visited in June and again today (07/27/09) Excellent breakfast at the Morning Thunder Cafe (under new ownership & new phone) which is an easy walk from the tie-down area. Dinner at Cafe Le Coq was superb. A great town and area to visit. Did not buy fuel. Heads up for air traffic as departures and arrivals use the same route.

Nice stop, good fuel prices! Walked to town and had lunch but most everything had closed at 2:00 (Saturday), just before we got there. Very pretty area.

Landed on 26 on 3/22/08 -- very friendly (Ran) at hangar right behind transient parking. Short walk into town and had a great lunch at Morning Thunder Cafe. Make sure to enter right downwind for 24 and takeoff 6 (left downwind). Very friendly town -- closes early on Saturdays around 2:00pm.

First time into Quincy. Wind was about 270/15. Approach was bumpy but uneventful in Piper Archer. Talked with local pilot about the downwind departure need due to rough terrain west of the field. Used about 3K of the 4K runway at 200# below gross weight. After dept I immediately turned left then hugged the northeast valley wall while climbing. At the east end of the small valley I reversed coursed and flew back over the airport. Interesting place where you could easily get into trouble with strong winds.

Flew in for a weekend getaway and wasn't disappointed. As stated below land 24 and t/o 06. Stayed at a B&B called The Feather Bed. The owner, Bob, picked us up and returned us planeside. Very nice B&B with a wonderful breakfast. No rental vehicles are available, but everything is within walking distance. Dinner at "Cafe Le Coq" was excellent, five course meal, and the French chef/owner was very personable and talented. Highly recommend this restaurant. Talked with the owner of the FBO, Johnny Moore who is the author of two aviation books. Very interesting individual. The only negative was when a Cirrus driver decided to do his run up next to the tie down area and his prop blast covered everyone’s aircraft with dirt and grime.
